i remember seeing this topic somewhere but i couldn\'t locate it with the search. if someone knows the link to the thread, would be appreciated...

but i was driving the car this morning to work (just picked it up last friday) and at the stoplight felt the car shaking, definitely more than usual. turned off the radio and it seemed like it was less but i couldn\'t say for sure.. but just wanted to kno if this is normal.

When I first got my 05 I noticed a slight rough idle, Now after 5000KM the idle is smooth, sometimes I think the engine is not running even with the air on. It might smooth out as it breaks in?

My 05 Sport aslo had a slight rough idle when I first got it, it is much better as it approaching 5000km. However the I can still feel the whole car shakes at the time it when it cranks over at startup.

thanks for the reply guys..

the crank at the start isn\'t really what im worried about.. just when it\'s started and just stopped at a light or something... as long as it\'s not something that\'s busted.. i\'m happy... :p

Hey elt09

here are a few links to previous discussion regarding the rough idle
Link 1 (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=1970) , Link 2 (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=2736) , Link 3 (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=2686) . Some people have noticed an improvement after doing to the ETB mod found here (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=395)

Does it smooth out when in neutral or park if its a auto.? Mine at first was smooth in park or neutral but a bit rough in drive.

she\'s a 5 spd. feels a little rough when im at a stoplight (in neutral). maybe im just picky cause i don\'t expect the car to shake at all at 750rpm.

I have over 30k and I experience the \"stopped at red light in neutral\" idle :D

hahahahaha very descriptive :)

I want to try this mod as well, but can\'t tell from the pics exactly what was done. I have read it a few times too, but not getting it I guess. Seems like a safe and affordable mod (I like those kinds) :)

did you even read this (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=395)? it\'s been beaten to death and explained in detail.

to summarize: run a cable (wire with an \"o\" ring) from the electronic throttle body to a factory grounding point (just to the right of the battery on the chasis)

i told my dealer to order the new engine mount from the recent tsb....so i will know in a week or so, i just hope that they didnt make it softer so theres less vibration carried through it...but ill check it out anyways im at 60k now and have had it since about 30k

ok important question before i go ahead with this. I am very aware with friends doing mods and voiding warranty. especially when tampering with things in the engine bay.

so my obvious question now is... will this void warranty in any way?? should I call and ask??

my previous honda I would do this without thinking twice, but don\'t want to cause problems with mazda here.

side note: I just checked the oil and the dip stick is DRY! I told my parents a week ago to do an oil change but nooooooooooooo...... they want to do it \"by the book\" :sarc

so weird not having full control over this kinda stuff anymore. car could die on me and all I\'d have to say is \"figures\" or \"I told ya so\"
