Popping Noise from the 3

Ive been hearing a popping noise from my 3 when I put it into Reverse and also when pressing gas and downshifting. I was wondering if anybody on the forum has it? If you need more of an explanation go here

Is yours an 04 or 05
Auto or stick
Haven\'t noticed it yet, and may never will but will keep my ears open

I\'m getting a metal on metal popping sound too when I go from first gear to Reverse. Car is fully stopped yet when the car moves (in reverse direction) something goes POP. it seems to come from front driver\'s side wheel area. If I put it back into gear and start accelerating a little, the sound MIGHT occur. Seems to like popping when going in Reverse tho. Haven\'t brought it in to check yet. Maybe I should soon ...

EDIT: 5MT here, 7/04 Build, approx 16400km

hmm,
ive noticedthis noise for a very long time. when i got into reverse theres a poping sound. i have an automatic and sometimes i use it to downshift to slow the car down, when i reach 40kmph i push it down to 1 from 2 and theres a pop/click. after that when i accelerate again, the noise comes back but its gone again.

this only happens when i reverse and downshift at those particular times. and its been going on for a while.

Ah so this is the \'popping\' noise. Sometimes I get this too.. like it will engage then when you let off the brake (I have an automatic remember) it\'ll almost feel like it is just engaging and then make a noise.
