Stupid Mazda3 Drivers in the GTA Thread

Okay...I never thought we would ever need a thread like this, but since the 3 is becoming the next Civic, there are going to be some wreckless and stupid drivers driving the 3. Share your experiences. Here is mine this morning.

Aug. 15th, 2005 9:10AM, Hwy #404 North bound (Woodbine exit).

This morning on the 404...some stupid guy with a TiGrey Sport GT started tailing me and cutting me off thinking he was so cool. I could tell he wanted to catch up to me as he was going in and out of lanes to try and speed past cars. I was in the left hand lane and he came up to tail me and cut me without signaling.

From what I could tell and hear, his car is stock. I don\'t understand why you would need to do that with your stock car? I already have a Mazda3...what would you prove by doing that to a fellow Mazda3 driver? Don\'t be stupid...thats all I ask...if you want to show off your car to me, there are other ways of doing it like coming out to a meet, instead of driving like a loser.

And if you are reading this thread (cuz I know there are A LOT of lurkers on TM3 who think they are \"underground\"...), YES I turned on my HIDs when you cut me off just because you wanted to play the game of \"show and tell\". :sarc

Next time, take your wreckless driving somewhere else...cuz I am not interested in being a 17 year old again and racing to see which car is faster, especially if they are both stock.

I can\'t believe the influx of M3\'s I\'m seeing everywhere now. Especially around my area in Durham...there used to be less than 5 I\'d see, and now I can\'t go a block without coming across another one. But yes..some are very stupid drivers...I used to see mostly 30-ish age range driving them, but the young kids are getting their hands on them now, and that just spells trouble.

The only story I have is...sort of the same thing as you Raptor...
I was driving home from the movies one night..it was after midnight, and a Red sedan came speeding up behind me, riding my ass in the middle lane of the 401. The fast lane was open but he felt it necessary to ride me. So I switched into the fast lane to move around a transport and he was right up my tail again....he did this all the way to my exit, where sadly he also got off...he tried to race me at the light, but I just don\'t do that....

Sad...the car is so great, I really wish people wouldn\'t abuse it and give it a bad name.

I am so hearing you on that one Red Raptor! I was stuck in traffic hell this past Friday trying to get from Downtown TO to west of Milton...There was an accident pretty much everywhere. I decided to try the 403 west and some whacked out lady in a Titanium Grey 3 merges into my lane, no signaling and literally pushing me over into the next lane...the woman was not going to stop...LUCKILY the guy in the lane beside me saw that she was being an idiot and gave me space to move in front of him. Regardless of whether we share the commonality of having a 3 or not.....Peeps gotsa stawp being morons on the road. So watch out for some mid aged white/blond haired woman in a Titanium Grey 3, believe it was a sport around the 403 and Eglinton area around 4:30-5pm. She\'s also one of those people who rides the right hand ENDING lane as long as she can and onto the shoulder to get in front of however many cars she can. RUDE! You are stuck in traffic lady...a couple of cars is not going to make a difference.
HOWEVER! the happiness to my story is that all the trouble she caused and put her ownself to, I was not the only one she was being a jerk too...I ended up passing her and she got blocked into the right lane and no where to go but to follow the car in front for a LLOOOONG time! Revenge can be soooo sweet!!!!

My wife was driving home saturday night around 12:30 south bound on McCowan (near Sheppard). A couple of young guys in a 3 started yelling cat calls at her & tailed her almost home.

I wish the police would start enforcing that law instead of turning a blind eye to it. It would reduce the number of accidents, instead we are free to undertake......! :sarc

when i was driving down to Metro Square, this teenage girl in a Blue Sport Gt with her friends kept parralelling me and won\'t let me cut in. All other encounter\'s with mazda 3\'s are pretty decent.

im going to have to agree with source on this one, its so frustrating. yes there is a speed limit HOWEVER LEAVE THE LEFT LANE OPEN FOR PASSING, or people who like to speed =) impeeding a speeder will cause accidents, though thats not to say, speeding wont :sarc

I second that.....I used to drive on 401 everyday for going work/home, and alot of ppl just don\'t know how to use \"the left lane on the express way\"! It\'s not for u to drive exactly 100km/h all the way on that lane, I mean especially when the road traffic is kind of free. So many times I have to tailgate those ppl and force them to move over. I am not personally interested of tailgating ppl\'s car, but when it comes to a necessity, I mean there\'re ppl on the road who are really rush to go, and u\'re blocking the supposed way for bypassing.

at night especially when driving at good speed i ususaly signal left and \"blip\" flash the driver in front but some ppl are too retarded to realise whats going on :sarc ....ususally have to zigzag inbetween a couple of cars just to pass the bastard...and then ppl call you a jerk :p

also do you ever notice if you are going at about 160 and pass the guy on the right they 99% of the time get close to your lane....i dont know what\'s up with that...it must be subconsious for ppl?


i find it that drivers in canada drive in a relaxed manner, if you want to sleep stay home, like wtf...recently when i went to nj for waterfest i noticed that the drivers drive faster than the speed limit at all times...and drive a bit crazy...i liked it, fit right in, i even got honked at a couple of times but thats cuz i got lost and slowed a bit (still above limit lol)...those roundabouts were a bit confusing! when ppl drive they shouldnt really rest, they should always be alert and concentrate on what is going around them!!!!!!!!!!!!


dont get me started when the geezers block all three lanes and drive in unisen for km on end...honking/flashing nothing will work... then u have to just look for a clean shoulder and pass...what is up with those ppl? i guess they have an obligation to keep the speedlimit in the 1930\'s hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh frustrating

I think after years of being impatient and always hasting to get somewhere... since I\'ve gotten this car.... that impatience faded... Don\'t really know why, but I figure, with this world... no matter how much you get annoyed at the person .... they\'re never going to change.... and there\'s always going to be someone else that\'s going to replace them...

I figure, no point to get annoyed anymore. Juss do my thing... point A to point B...

When I was going behind him, he\'d drop to 50.... when I tried to politely pass him, he\'d speed up. Now THAT was just starting to piss me off. The reason why? This was just the past FRiday night... it was 2am.. I was trying to Get to Dominion so I could get my stuff... and go home so I could wake up for 7am. first time I\'ve ever actually gotten annoyed in my car. Dropped the car into third.... surpassed him... got into the left lane, and directly proceeded to get into the left hand turning lane, cuz the brat was just an idiot. Who does that??? If you want me to go behind you, I honestly couldn\'t care less... but that\'s just annoying when someone starts to purposely slow down to annoy you... and then when ya try and pass, they speed up so you can\'t. What\'s the point of that?!?!?!?!

grr lol i also hate it when drivers think they are write and they are wrong. rofl near a friends house, at kennedy and carlton, that intersection splits the lanes. when going to main street on carlton u gota pass kennedy so im on the opposite side after leaving mainstreet and the lane is split so its 1 for left 1 for straight 1 for right. so this ******* in a camry is in the right lane with no signal, i figure \"fine most people dont ****ing signal annytways\" and then i make te left, and he ****ing starts going STRAIGHT!!! im like \"WHAT THE **** YO?\" and he HONKS AT ME. and as he passes by he STARES AT ME like im WRONG? so i stare at him back and as hes passing me cause hes \" right\" i go \"**** you sir\" then give some crazy cut eye action. haha actually laughed at that with my friend, cause when he got to the end of the intersection he had to make a slight left turn to actually get into the RIGHT lane he was supposd to be in. haha that mofo was probably like \"oh my god! im an asshat, what kind of shit-for-brains-driver am i? next time ill read the signs on the road\" GRRR

T.O. drivers are probably the worse drivers I have ever encountered. During the day it\'s everyone trying to get to work... so you have teenagers, twenty-somethings. Middle-aged, and seniors all occupying the road and no one remembers how to drive!! God forbid you have to drive into work on a rainy day!! Let alone in the winter!!!
In the night you have all the teenage punks in their Daddy\'s/Mommy\'s car trying to show off to their friends! And then you have the yahoos in their riced out cars thinking they can race anything under the moon!!!

If people see you have a 3 and they\'re in an Accord, they know they can use their power to stay ahead of you and keep you at the posted speed limit!!! I can\'t tell you how many times this has happened!!! They purposely do this so you can\'t get in front of them. And up where I live there are a lot of 1 lane roads. Very few 2 lane roads. And when they\'re 2 lane roads you have some idiots who occupy both lanes and go exactly the same speed!!!! Nothing pisses me off worse than that!!!

I drive more dangerously in the 3 than I do in my FD. People treat you with no respect in the 3. To them it\'s just another economy car. Nobody moves over and everyone drives slower than the limit.
Things change dramatically when I\'m in the FD!! People go out of their way to get out of mine!!!

I\'ve given up on T.O. traffic. I try to avoid it as much as I can. If I have to go to T.O. I make sure it\'s in the middle of the night. Hardly anybody around.

not only riced cars.. even people with like really nice car like a ferrari.. last time at destiny accrossed from pmall.. this guy had a ferrari and he was showing off his stupid car.. he turned on his car, blast the music, walked away, and just left the car there.. lol he was very annoying lol and before he left, he had to rev for awhile then took off :zzz come on they think its our first time seeing a ferrari or something :D

also on monday, i was driving on the highway 401 to 427.. then this ****** truck was tailing me? lol wtf it was some pretty scary shit, it looked like that truck almost flipped cause it was going so fast, i hate it when truck drivers think they can drive fast and ****** scares the shit out of other drivers

and today wtf?!?!? some van hit those pylon on the 404, then it rolled out to the road, i was trying not to it hit but it rolled right infront of my car.. stupid *******s.. i hit it and it broke lol then it left some shit on my car now -_- very sad...

I was downtown one day when some ass pulls up a red light in his nice Modena. Give it a couple of peaked revs and then proceeds to stall when the lights changed :sarc

Either he was a really bad driver, or had just got the thing, cause he tried to pull away when the revs dipped......what a muppet

in my rear view.

Acually i kind of know what you mean for the respect thing. When i used to drive the passat, people would always tail and shiet even when im going like 10-20 above limit. And on highway im going at 120 cuz thats the optimal speed for the 2001 passat. Had to deal with alot of S#$@, had to drive a lil crazier and cut in and cut out alot. But now since im in my bimmer and can most of the time pass the cars on the road with me with ease, i dont experience this harrassment no more ? its really weird. Btw when someone is going 160 and they tap beam you twice cuz ur going 90 in the fast lane on the highway, does everyone know that means to move over and let the faster driver pass ?

Well, the idea is to keep the car moving at the same speed so you can conserve fuel... So if the guy in the fast lane hasn\'t realized I\'m coming up fast, I don\'t bother sitting behind them waiting for them to move over... I just move over and use the empty lanes...

The majority of the time the \"slow\" lane is the one I use because nobody seems to like that lane!!! Everyone hangs out on the \"fast\" lane, holding up traffic... I just zip along in the \"slow\" lane and move over to the faster lanes if I need too...

It\'s kinda funny because as soon as they see me pass in the right lane, the people who were hogging the \"passing\" lanes immediately move over to get into the \"slow\" lane!!

Like I said, alot of stupid people on the road!!

recently I felt myself driving more aggressively.:p cause many ppl seem don\'t know how to drive at a safety environment. More and more drivers blocking left lanes but drive too slow no matter on hwy or city, they really don\'t care about \"slow cars keep right\" kind of stuff. Although it is not an official rule, but if I get space on right lane and still can keep my speed, I change to right lane ASAP. So don\'t complain me tailgating you and driving too aggressive.

Also - there was a time I was heading into Kingston on the 401 doing about 160 in the left lane. I see an OPP Impala closing in really quickly behind me. I was expecting him to pull me over so Ipanicked and swiched lanes to let him pass. He passes me and completely ignores me. That was a close call.

Saturday night I got on the 401 eastbound off McCowan and sped up to merge into traffic and eventually get my arse onto the far left lane. Now, earlier in the morning I had woken up to find a parking ticket on my car.

I wasn\'t thinking anything but when I looked in my rearview, I see flashing lights and sirens ... OH ****!!!!!!!! I was nearly sh!tting my pants for being caught ...

I let off the gas and waited for an opening in the lane to my right so I can eventually get onto the shoulder and let the hammer come down on me.

Finally an opening comes up and I change lanes. Wait a sec ... the cruiser goes right by me!!!!!!!!

HOLY SHIET ... hahahaha never thought I\'d be so happy in my life! :D

If I was thinking tho, I woulda known the cruiser wasn\'t trying to pull me over. He had a different set of lights and sirens going. At least that is what I\'m told. If they were catching me, it\'d more a much more intimidating siren and lights.

I still do\'nt own a 3 right now because i\'m picking it up on the 20th of september.
But today i was driving my dads new TL on Steeles going west to 404. While i was at birchmount stop light this red GX mazda 3 comes up so close making it look like its about to hit me. It\'s some big chinese dude in it. When it was green light i slowly accelerated because the car is still new and still haven\'t been run in yet.
I was going 80 already on steeles but he kept tailing me even tho it was open on the right lane. I ignored him and just kept going 80 then he suddenly just pops right to the right lane looks at me and cut me off without a signal then brakes when there is no cars in front of him.

I really couldn\'t do anything since the car is new and i didn\'t want to do anything to it. And it\'s my dads car. I know my insurance is high enough so even tho i can murder him with my TL i wouldn\'t.

It was hard trying to hold back my anger but i can\'t afford to do anything stupid. :)
