A very tiny piece of rock (or stone, or whatever it was) on the highway did it!
Now, I have about a foot long crack on my windshield :(

Any of you guys can recommend a cheap but good shop to replace my windshield?
I guess my wipers\\\' rain sensor won\\\'t work anymore, unless I take the car to the dealership instead?

Just my luck................

You guess your rain sensor won\'t work... You should be able to tell if it does or doesn\'t.

Where is the crack? I got hit by a fair sized stone off the back of a dump truck 2 weeks after I got my 3... nice spider web crack... longest crack close to 8\"

That was 15 months ago... It\'s still there... no problem.

I think you mis-understood what he meant......to replace the windshield and retain the rain-sensing wipers the cost would be something stupid like $750. If you just buy a pane of glass to put in and not any of the other stuff required for the rain sensors then it would \"only\" cost around $400 or so.

Don\'t forget the engine light will come on if you remove the rain sensor.

sux man ... those sensor things are a PITA. and that CEL will be a big ass pain, cause you\'ll always think that there\'s something wrong with your car, but it\'s just the sensor not woorking.

whatevar you DO... DON\"T just let it grow to an 8\" crack cause first, it\'s a ticket and second it\'s stupid to put your life at risk for $400... i would like to think your safety costs much more than that.

I went to a place in Mississauga to get mine done on my Protege 5 just before I traded it in I paid $185 cash and most places were easily over $400 I don\'t know what it\'ll cost for a M3 (and I hope I never have to have it done on my new one)
It was located on Brittania near Dixie I think it is listed in the yellow pages as Dixie auto glass but the sign says Brittania auto Glass

kind of a scary looking place but they did great work and I had no problems with it leaking or anything and the price was right!
Good luck.
