The bolt pattern will fit fine. but the offset on stock p5 wheels are 50, i believe, so your gonna need higher profile, narrower tires. It would look a little funny IMO.

???
The offset on the MZ3 is high too. Doesn\'t the answer depend on a combination of rim width and offset?
This talk of higher profile/narrower tires is related to wheel circumference, no?

i read it an option to switch from 17\'s.
well... so the offset on the 17\'s are 52, and on the Protege 16\'s are 50
i put one rim on the front today, and it seems to be okay. I think 2 mm should be negligable ( did i spell that right? )
you dont have to change the tire to a narrower one, there\'s quite a bit of room, so it shouldnt rub against anything. mind you, i didn\'t have a tire on the rim when i tried it.
we\'ll see what happens

You should be fine running those wheels, as long as the tire is around the same overall diameter as your stock ones.

Although I think they\'ll ultimately fit, I don\'t think you can just say 52mm and 50mm are close because you have to factor in the width of the wheel. I think the Protege rims are 6 inch and the Mz3 17\'s are 6.5 inch. There\'s a couple of posts here with an \"offset calculator\" where you can punch in these numbers to see how much the wheel moves in or out or both.

Shouldn\'t have any problems at all. I\'m switching from my black steelies to the 16\" P5\'s.
