Hey everyone i\'m new here. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the system the Mazda 3 comes with. I test drove it the other day and the sound is AWFUL!!!

Have any of you changed the speakers in your car?

Did you install an MP3 player?

I have an amp & box in my current car. if i install it in the Mazda, will the sound be better?

LOL i don\'t know what that means. It just didn\'t sound very clear. I tried playing with the bass and treble but it didn\'t do much.

The 3 does not have an option for a Bose system, however the 6 does (I have it, and trust me, it BLOSE).

Bonita, many members have upgraded the factory stereo....some by replacing speakers, some by adding amps, speakers, and subs, and some all out replacement systems. Almost anything will sound better than stock, however by just adding your amp and sub you will only be improving your sub bass. If that\'s all that you felt was \"awful\", then great, but if you found the mids and high to be lacking then you\'ll have to start replacing the speakers and possibly adding an amp or two to power the system.

Check out the audio section for tonnes of info on this subject.

Welcome to the forum!

Many of us have changed the sound system in the our cars, some from mild (myself included) to wild. Myself, I changed all the speakers, added a subwoofer and two amps and I\'ve connected my iPod. The wilder audio setups include backup cameras, DVD players, carputers and headrest monitors. Check out this section of the forum (http://www.torontomazda3.com/forum/board.php?FID=20) for more information.

BTW, the sound system is average IMHO. Adding a Bose name to it doesn\'t make it that much better.

Thread moved to Interior Electrical.

Sorry, I just want to add a little update.....I was on M3F and it looks like in the States at least a Bose speaker package is available on the 2006 models.

i think BOSE is available in Canada too, the mazda.ca says its BOSE when you try to buy it.

Either way, don\'t waste your money on a Bose upgrade if you care about your music. The money will be much better spent getting some decent speakers and an amp to power them.

Agreed.
