Have you guys seen that thing?? It looks awesome! It combines the best of both worlds, small like the iPod Shuffle and more memory and a colour screen like the regular iPod.
Too bad iPods can\'t link into the car\'s stereo system and the integrated buttons on the steering wheel. I just might buy one...$300 is kinda steep though.

14hr battery life (for 2gb ad 4gb versions) is way to little.. and we\'ve all heard/seen what happened in 2003.. no? http://www.ipodsdirtysecret.com/ :D i\'m sure it\'s improved but i\'m still a fan of rechargable AA or AAA batteries.. like in my ifp-899 (iriver)
but damn it does look slick! :)

I wanted to get one, but is this an issue with the battery I need to think about?

Man that reminds me of the whole Creative lawsuit against Apple... For those who don\'t know the context of the lawsuit, apparently Creative has just won its patent few weeks ago on \"organizing music by artist-album-song\", and they are suing Apple for using that \"organization hierarchy\".
I lost all respect for Creative since.

I had so many problems with my 2nd gen Ipod. Had to send it back twice so I\'m on my 3rd now which has lasted a couple years (it\'s a brick though!) My buddy just sent back his 4th gen Ipod because of battery problems and they wanted to charge him for shipping! BTW if you bitch enough they will not charge you. I don\'t think I will purcase another Ipod because of all of the problems. It\'s stupid because apple knows that there are battery problems but are not doing anything to fix it.
The new nano looks pretty awesome but I can\'t stand the name! The term \'nano\' is just being thrown around without any knowledge of what it is.

I\'ve got a 2nd gen Ipod and have never had any problems with it. Going by Apple\'s sales numbers, I\'m guessing most consumer\'s don\'t care about the battery life, as 75% of Mp3 players sold are from Apple.

They\'re design is incredible. When I picked up the 2nd gen Ipod way back when, it felt awesome. Solid. Plus the scroll wheel was perfect, along with the interface.
Price is pretty competitive too.

I think there are superior players out there (iRiver for instance) however nothing can match the aftermarket support or vast array of accessories as the iPod. That was the genious of the iPod IMO.

It\'s not just accessories - the audio qty is outstanding!
[as long as you replace those fugly white buds ;) ]

Just bought the 4gb model through the apple cda website. Don\'t think the 4gb model is available @ Futureshop yet.
In any event, it seems like MSRP and is the same as Futureshop (at least the 2gb model pricing is), but there\'s free shipping and free engraving.

Yes, the Nano is supposed to replace the Mini.

Depending on what you need, I\'d rather shell out a few more bucks for say a 20GB or 40GB Ipod...colour or not. I like the storage.

True...for another $80 you get another 16GB!

Yeah, completely worth it! when you think in those terms.

some ppl prefer the non-moving parts (and size and weight that come with it)

for 2GB or 4 GB can store over 1000 songs, but I even don\'t have 600 songs:p , so 20GB is a waste for me.
bluntman, 1 more question, would you know the PIE or other adapter fit Nano, cause Nano too new to have info.

I just got one (4GB, white)...well actually 2 (1 for the wifey ;) )
I want to get it hardwired to my 3 (I don\'t really care about controlling tracks from the wheel...I don\'t see how it can be done!) I\'m gonna start by calling Lockdown tomorrow and see if they know anything about getting this done. Anyone find anything on a holder for the nano (sorry, too tired to search now.. :p)

Sorry for the late reply, but as long as the Nano can accept a dock connector, then the Belkin Auto Kit will work. Conversely, you can also use the headphone connector at the bottom of the Nano to connect to the PIE.
