Perception of the Best Made Cars (http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jc/quality.htm)

My thought was that if you bread and butter car\'s are still made like a piece of shit and crap why would I want to move up to your midsize, sport or luxury line? That has been the Big Three Problem for years and for decades they couldn\'t care less. The gap however must be closing as stats don\'t lie, but if you throw every goddamn incentive and cheap prices at people they will flock to your product and overlook alot of issues and the general public must have an ingrained low expectation in the Neons, Focus\', Crapaliers, Sunfires, Tempo\'s, Saturns etc.

I still have a problem with this measure and concept of INITIAL QUALITY It\'s sort of an oxymoron.., FAWK THAT. The consumer wants to know of durability, reliability and historical quality. No one builds the perfect car and some leading car makers still have some troublesome areas historically. And most will always have some change-over design issues with new generations.

Anyways, just my thoughts anyways.

I\'ve also read from Phil Edmunston that Honda Accord & Camry may have been slipping in some areas in-conjunction with the domestic midsize market coming up. And we can\'t forget the hungry Koreans.
