Hello everyone,

I\'ve been a visitor of this site for the past couple of months now and have most definitely learned much! :) As an extremely interested Mazda3 fan, I was wondering if any of you could tell me approximate waiting time for this time of year if I ordered a 2006 MZ3. Does it depend on dealer? Would the waiting time be longer than that of the 2005? From what I have read, I am gathering it is no longer than 2 weeks, though I know I could be totally off.

To let you know, I have in mind GS + SP, auto, silver. Nothin\' fancy....at least I don\'t think!

Any input would be great.
Thanks in advance!
RG

Our first 3 took about six weeks since they had to make it then ship.....for our 2006 we have been told about three weeks since when we purchased it the exact car was sitting in the port in BC.

It all depends on where the car is. If you get one that\'s already on the lot then you don\'t have to wait at all! Usually the dealer can chek to see what is on its way. Mine took about 4 weeks cause it was on it\'s way from Japan on a boat.

Mine came from the factory, so alittle over a month wait.

Have you tried to ask your sales guy to do a dealer trade with other dealers, to get your car faster. I\'m thru with waiting, it sucks big time. Try to get something in their inventory.

I for one prefer to have it come right from the factory as opposed to have been sitting on a lot somewhere. Sure you wait a few weeks, but isn\'t it worth it to know that your car wasn\'t just sitting out in the elements for days/weeks/months, possibly being used as a demo?

i\'m with you PSIVIC

wait a month to have piece of mind!
but u get what they get u in effect
if they find it at another dealer, ah well ur gonna take it right!
and as long as the Kms are not reved up , u know it wasn\'t a driving demo,

but ah well, as long as it is clean and mean!

lol

No necessarily....when my wife and I went to go test drive the 3 for the first time the salesman handed us the keys to a Ti Grey hatch that was on the lot. A couple of days later when my friend and I went in to buy they sold him that car! IIRC it had about 50-60kms on it when he picked it up.

When I went to buy my 04 there were a lot of 3\'s on the lot. It seemed that there was one in every color and in every configuration. I bought mine from Markham Mazda, and they were at the time parked three deep and about 15 wide.

I waited 3 days. Bought it Jan 3 04 - Picked up Jan 7 04. The car only had 7km on it and they were just taking of the plastic seat covers as I pulled into the lot to pick it up.

The cars are delivered to the dealers with the white wrappers on them, so you get some form of protection from the elements. And you also have the odometer reading to tell you whether its banged around or not, mine had 12km when I picked up.

Don\'t forget the cars are exposed to the elements when they\'re on rails for 2 weeks, so the car you\'re getting isn\'t exactly fresh off the factory floor either. At the rate the cars are being sold and replenished, I\'m pretty sure you\'re getting something thats as fresh as it gets.

For myself, I would definitely trade a month\'s wait for something thats new and in inventory.

If you take a look around on most dealers lots you will find that the majority of cars do NOT have the white plastic covers. Also, it has been admitted by Mazda employees on this forum that cars on the lot can and are often used as demo\'s.

It took 6 days for me to pick up my 2006. I orderd it on Sep 9 and picked it up on Sep 15. Lucky, huh? It just had 3 KM on it so I was sure it was a BRAND NEW car and not a DEMO.

Hey guys... also new here. My dealer told me 8-10 weeks :( about 3 weeks ago (06 white sedan gt/gfx 5sp). This is starting to sound like a really long time, but I was told that there are just hardly any white ones around ie. not many people order that colour.

As for the km/demo thing, the last one I tested was ti grey w/ 2 kms and when I was done around 12. My dealer let me drive the bejesus out of it and I was very impressed might I add.:)

Uhhh, white seems to be one of the most popular colours as of late. When we bought our first MZ3 we waited a solid 8 weeks and that was in the middle of the 2005 model year, so I guess it\'s understandable to have to wait at the beginning of the 2006 year. Which dealership did you buy from?

BTW, I\'m waiting on the same car as you.....should arrive any day now!

I bought from Ontario Mazda in the Dixie/401 automall. White\'s super popular now eh? Bummer. It was that or black and with all the silver/grey/darkgrey 3\'s out there i figured why not.

I\'m just relaying what I was told with a bit of assumption on my part seeing i\'ve seen 2 white ones. I\'m assuming he\'s wrong so, I guess i\'ve gotten the new silver. Bigger bummer.:p :D

I ordered a Carbon Grey GT (no packages) today, and was told around 12+ weeks wait. I guess most people like the GFX version, since the salesman was shocked that I *didn\'t* want that. Sigh, that\'s a LONG wait.:(

Yikes 12+ weeks!

I\'d go with the GFX package, just to cut down on the wait. Mazda3 sure are in demand. :D
