Went into lockdown today to drop off the stuff for my angeleyes i am having put on. Talked wiht jeff about the whole process, he\'s best kind i must say. It took them no longer than 10min to open up the first headlight housing with a heat gun, made it look like a piece of cake, like they have done it 494949 times....we decided that it would be best to just put rings around teh low beam projector and not the high beam reflector, due to the tacky look that it would have on teh high beam, given its not a complete circle, its an enlarged circle....so in teh end, ill have 2 hailo\'s...one around each low beam....

anywyas, so now i just have to wait till i get contacted again to make another trip out to scarb town to get it put on teh car...

Jeff, You\'s the man!!

Congrats on the angel eyes.

I still have the MS shocks set aside for you - let me know when you\'re coming out to TO and you can pick them up. And hopefully I can check out your angel eyes. :p

I assume you have a spare set of headlights....right? If not, I don\'t know if I\'d be driving around without lamp assemblies :p

Post up pics of the finished product when you can.

So how much did you spend in total - angeleyes + install?

bubba1983
09-30-2005, 01:05 PM
yes i did pick up a spare set of headlamps for this project.
I am unable to take pics of the install because well, jeff has everything rightnow.

Total Costs for the headlamps were

$35US for one headlamp
$50US for the other headlamp
$18CAD duties for the one headlamp
$41CAD duties for the other headlamp
$15US roughly shipping for each headlamp

Install i believe will be around $150-$200...This is their first time doing somethign liek this, so im a guinea pig...

so about all in total for both headlamps, it came to roughly $200 for everything, to my door.

The angeleye Kit cost a ridiculous $200 to my door.

so entier project, headlamps, angeleye kit, and install will roughly be about $600

It will all be worth it in the end!

Whoa thats a pretty good deal. I was thinking the same thing. Now all the auctions I see for headlights are 100USD each.
We gotta see those pics!!!

I never thought these angel eyes would be as bright as they are, they really make a huge difference in the look of the headlight assembly! Here are some more pics of the work we\'ve completed so far, and also some pics of the angel eyes actaully turned on:

one thing i noticed...so at night, when your HID are on, you\'ll hardly be able to see the angeleyes in the car in front...how come you chose to put it in the projector lamp rather than the highbeam one?? If its on the high beam light, you will still be able to see it at night...not sure how that\'d look on a mazda3 in the distance though

bubba1983
10-06-2005, 07:19 AM
the ring that was supplied, was to small in diameter for the high beam housing. It looked very tacky IMO....thats why i went wiht just teh low beam projector housing.

will they stay on when ur car is off?
ie parked, and at meets and things
on a switch or something,
i can\'t remember if it was previously discussed in this thread?
and i am too lazy to check, since i am already typing!

its all good if the disapear in the HIDs
(it would be nice to see em a little)
cause its not like the angel eyes put light on the road anyways,
they just look freakin sweet!!!!!!

guys, wait till after saturday then ill let you know abot the wiring, i stil don\'t even know how its goign to be hooked up yet, i still have to talk to jeff about that...

TheProfessor
10-07-2005, 10:31 AM
It\'s too bad they didn\'t offer a slightly longer kit to go around the high-beams.....that would\'ve been perfect. Still though, I\'m sure you\'ll turn a few heads with this set-up!

bubba1983
10-07-2005, 10:36 AM
yeah, also with the high beam, it catches too much light in the reflector housing, so instead of projecting a crisp circle, the light gets scattered into the high beam reflector housing....not a fan of that personally

TheProfessor
10-07-2005, 10:26 PM
Oh really? Then I think I probably would\'ve done what you\'re doing.....wouldn\'t look as nice if it wasn\'t a crisp \"ring\".

LOL i will when dusk hits...

i had them wired up to the parking lights instead for now.

I think after the winter, see how they are, im going to be goign back to have them hooked up to an internal switch, or something....to run as drl...

nice...makes your car sexy!

....arent they gonna burn out easily/faster if you wired them as DRL?
and considering changing those bulbs will require opening up your headlight assembly again...

bubba1983

their cold cathode tubes
anyone who is into computer stuff knows that cold cathode lighting has one retarded life span, like LED\'s..

very BMW like - nice!
Using the angel eyes as DRL\'s makes alot of sense when going with the HID conversion. This looks like a great mod for a group buy!:)
