Need help with Ontario attractions

Since the Thanksgiving weekend is coming up quickly, is there any good romantic getaway within 5 hour drive from Toronto? Currently my choices are:

1. Niagara on the Lake
2. Ottawa
3. Thousand Island

There are some nice places north of the city.....Deerhurst comes to mind. Bed and Breakfasts in the Niagara area are also quite popular.

is it just me or white hatch owners need some romance/sensitivity training :D :p i dunno how about you if i were the significant other i wouldn\'t want to my gf to know how i set it all up, found a place and all.. it\'s always nice to keep it a secret and face it.. you can\'t delete other ppl\'s responses ;)

Hey, not all white hatch owners are hopeless when it comes to the opposite sex :p

My gf suggests Niagara on the Lake. You can go on a winery tour (get the girl drunk! oh yeah!), Niagara falls is a half hour drive away, plus you can go across the border to go shopping if you go to the falls. There are alot of restaurants there, bed and breakfast (spend a romantic evening together, bring the champagne!), and I think some theaters (not too sure).

Ottawa is a nice place too but the drive is a bitch! Not sure if you want to drive for 5 hours. The city is very nice and if you stay downtown, you can easily walk to most things. But once again the drive is a biatch. Oh yeah you can go bungee jumping as well. It\'s awesome! Not sure if that\'s romantic though.

This website lets you search resorts throughout Ontario, they have alot of packages. Plenty of places with hot tubs!!

Saranac Lake, NY or the finger lakes region south east of Rochester should also be considered.
You could take \"The Cat\" ferry from Toronto to Rochester. Weekend packages are also available. Check it out at www.canadaferry.com:p
