Which one are you guys using? Satisfied?
Where can I get one? Cheapest place PMall? If it\'s PMall, I should be able to get the Asian price.

I\'ve heard from a colleague of mine that the Logitech one is amazing with its 8 hour talk time. I have the Sony Ericsson Akono HBH600 myself, and the battery life sucks. If you\'re planning to get one, get the Logitech.

Motorola has a couple of models compatible with most Bluetooth phones. I think they start at $99.

followed up with a mini review ;) more like some opinions via msn:
jeff says:
I love it
jeff says:
The only thing is that it is not advanced as I would like it to be
jeff says:
for example it maintains a call list of recieved calls, but it cannot look at my phonebook and pull numbers from there
jeff says:
aside from that, quality wise I love it
jeff says:
reception is amazing
jeff says:
battery and talk time is good
jeff says:
it comes with a holster too
jeff says:
Forsure (y)(y) on my review

I bought myself the Logitech Freedom BT headset. I barely use it but it was only $55 and the sound is pretty good, of course I have no frame of reference. I just didn\'t want to pay $100+ for something I rarely use.

Good point. Now that you make me think about it, perhaps the bluetooth speakerphone thing would be the better use of $$$.

NATHAN: If u\'re interested of buying a Bluetooth headset, I may have some hook-ups for u. I have those OEM Motorola Bluetooth headsets through Telus. Ranging from $89.99~$149.99(depending on models), I\'d discounted them about 10%~15% off the regular price from a regular Telus store. ;)

Blunty,
Did your phone come with an instruction manual? Mine came with a piece of paper to show how to pair it up to the phone, but I want to know how to operate the other options -- mute, etc.

Yes, the phone came with a somewhat thick manual, but the earpiece only came with a piece of paper...which I have to look for again.

Sorry, my bad. Did the earpiece come with an instruction manual should have been the question.
Ya, I only have the one piece of paper instruction page for the earpiece.
Actually, the most important question I have is whether I can mute the earpiece mike with the multifunction button on the earpiece or do I do it via the phone...

I recently got a Plantronics Explorer 320. The reception is great with my SonyEricsson T637. Sounds clear.. One button use. Now that I started using it I find I tend to use it more often, just cuz its more convient. In the car is a no-brainer.. much much better. I got mine for about 69 at FS.

Question:
What does the multifunction button do on my Mobile Cordless/Bluetooth headset?
Answer:
Other then turning the headset on and off, the functionality of this button is phone-dependant. On most phone models (like Nokia or Sony Ericsson), the button will either answer or end your phone call. On newer phones, you can hold the button down and use advanced features like voice dialing.

hmm
ive used my bt200 till it died a while ago. since then ih avent used anything. but let me tell u something, if u do get a new headset 2 things u should DEFINITELY consider is:
1. DSP or soemthing similar
2. BATTERY LIFE
3. fit
the reason i stress that is because well, wind raped my bt200 lol.. my AC that was on raped it too, no one could hear me. battery life on my bt200 was about 2 hours if talking constantly which sucked ass cause my convo\'s ususally lasted longer than that back then. and fit, i wore glasses and took my bt headset to my parents place where i helped out ina ll sorts of ways, so i needed something that would be firm and stayed on my head no matter what, the in-the-ear-and-around-the-back design of the bt200 made it fit and ghold very comfortably, not to mention i wear glasses.
maybe i should get a new bt headset lol. to bad i sold my s710 =(

I\'d also recommend an LCD display (for Call Display) on the headset. Not too many models have this methinks. It\'d be useful however if you could just look at the call display instead of pulling out the phone out of your pocket or holster to see the number.

The Logitech is really good for sound as it has noise cancellation technology. 7 hours talk and 240 hours standby! However it doesn\'t come with a car charger; just AC adapter.
It\'s HUGE (like broli\'s mom) and not pretty (in a broli\'s mom kind of way - she\'ll do the job but you don\'t wanna be seen with her), but for $55 (which is $50 more than broli\'s mom charges), you can\'t go wrong (which is more than I can say about broli\'s mom).

i DO NOT recommend a LCD display on the headset. lol your going to be wearing it mostly anyways right? besides the LCD would drain the battery, and the only headset with a LCD LARGE enough is the bt800, look at the SE hbh-xxx series with that tiny lcd strip, useless!

These are the BT headset that I\'ve owned and used before, my experience should give you guys a bit of an idea on what to buy as your next or first headset.
1) Tecno Blu Sapphire (http://www.tecnozone.com/product/sapphire.htm?product_id=10031)
My very first BT Headset. It was bulky, heavy, terrible sound quality on both ends, literally no battery life but it was dirt cheap. Used it for a month and decided I should move on.
2) Bluetrek G2 (http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews/n/4614.html)
My first WORKING BT Headset. It\'s from a company based in Hong Kong, bought it for around $120 on Ebay. Coming from the Sapphire, the G2 was light as a feather, battery life was best in the industry at the time, sound quality was really good for me but a bit muffed for my friends on the other end. Comfort wise it is fair, biggest complain is that the hook on the headset wasn\'t adjustable, and the ear piece is like a plug that goes right into your ear, music becomes mono when I put the headset on...
3) SonyEricsson HBH-660 (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=1332&source=BROWSER)
After a year with the G2, I moved on to the latest technology from SonyEricsson. The HBH-660 was so call the \"state of the art\" headset, small form factor, DSP and a LCD screen displaying caller id, battery status, etc. This was the most conformable headset I\'ve ever used, it hooks perfectly over my ear and the speaker sits about 0.5cm above my inner ear, sound quality is exceptional on both ends with the built in digital sound processor. The biggest complain about this headset was the battery life, it only last me a day standby and a maximum of 2-3 hours talk time. I eventually got too lazy to charge it everyday, got tired of putting on the headset only to find out it’s out of juice. I need a headset that I can charge a couple times a week and work when I want it to work, which brings me to my current headset.
4) Bluespoon AX2 (http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/nextlink_bluespoon_ax2_ultra_small_wireless_blueto oth_headset)
Don’t get me wrong, the HBH-660 is a really good headset, I used it for 1.5 year and it’s still operational (unlike the G2 that died after a year and the Sapphire that I kind of destroyed). In exchange for battery life, I gave up DSP and the slick LCD screen for the Bluespoon AX2. Now, this headset is SMALL, and I mean SMALL. The length of the AX2 is about the diameter of a looney and it weight only 10g, it fits on in my ear (not on, it fits in the inner ear) perfectly and there are times that I forget that it in my ear until my phone rings. The battery in this little thing lasts forever, on a 2 hours charge I had a maximum standby time of 5 days with about 1-2 hours of talking everyday. The biggest trade of for the battery life is sound quality, being an analog headset, it doesn’t filter background noise too well and sound quality is fair on both ends. Range of the headset is terrible, with a straight line of sight I can only get around 2 meters until I hear static (Comparing to around 10 meters for my HBH-660).
I spend most of my day in the office, at home or in my car where my phone is relatively close in range to my headset. I rarely use my headset outdoor thus DSP doesn’t make that much of a difference to me (AX2 without DSP doesn’t work when there is high wind). So consider how and where you’re going to use your headset before you make a decision, if you don’t mind plugging in the headset every night then a digital one like the HBH-660 is perfect for you. For me, the small form factor plus the amazing battery life of the AX2 is more appropriate, until headsets like the Motorola H5 is available anyway…
Hmm~~~Long post~~~Hope this helps…

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. I need a new headset to use with my crackberry 8703. I had the HS850, which was ok, but battery life has gone downhill, and my mother just got a BT enabled phone, so I will give it to her.
I prefer over the ear, to in the ear, so I'm thinking Motorola H700. Thoughts? Also, other than ebay where can I get a good deal on a legit one ?

I work with these sets and honestly the Hs850 is the best one. I leave my phone in the car, in the garage, and walk around the first floor talking on the headset. Don't even think about the Nokia ones, they get static if there is anything between you and the phone, like a car door or a plaster wall. Jabra is good but most models are really over priced. My friend is actually selling his HS850 that he's used for less than a month now for $60.00 like new. His battery lasts 2 full days without a charge and his phone (Lg Chocolate) dies before the headset. If anyone is interested PM me. Or if you got any questions about any other headset.
P.S H700 is worse the HS850 and It's more expensive...
Whos ur dadd
01-30-2007, 03:49 AM
The Logitech I reviewed above had better sound quality than my current HS850. A little static now and again... nothing too bad, but I expected better.
Jabras seem well reviewed, but pricy...

apparently there are 2 moels of the hs700. the A model sucked ass, the B fixed all problems the A had. this can be found somewhere alone the lines of SNfdlsjfdksajfdskljfA/B if i remember correectly
i have the hs850, its a piece of shit to no end. lol
personally, no DSP or fancy electronic noise processor can beat a boom mic. which is why im looking for a hbh300 lol. i think it was 10 hours of talk time and several hundred standby, and best of all, a boom mic, straight to your mouth.
downside is that its kinda big lol, well atleast long for there to be a boom mic and its impossible to find. also if u wear glasses it might not be recommended.

Plantronics voyager 510 (http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat1150057/cat5420035/prod5460010)
this is my ONE and only BT headset experience.. i like it thus far.. i am an occasional talker and i think the battery lasted me 2-3 weeks (rated for 6h of talk time and 100h of standby)
it pairs with my w810i and 7250.. the volume is great.. sometimes TOO great and i haven't heard people complaining about the outgoing voice quality.. except one time when there was a lot of wind noise on the highway..
the only thing that is a little iffy is the range, but as per the BT standard 10m it will do (starts beaking up and crackling aroun 8m or with more obstacles in the way), besides usually have my cell/bberry in the car/my pocket so range isn't an issue really..
the only reason i got it over anything else, i paid 30USD :) buy.com had a promo in december for $50 and with google checkout i saved another $20..
it's got 4 buttons:
on/off
call accept/reject/voice dial
volume +
volume -
it sits comfortably in my ear but it does get in the way of my high jacket collar but i've adjusted for that..
not having compared this to anything else, 8/10 stars

I can see why people would want to have it around for driving, actually using it to reply to calls. But how many people leave it in their ears when walking around or eatting in a restaurant.
What's the edicate? Does it vib or beep if it's in your pocket and say your phone is far away from you?

90% of the time i take it off when i leave the car.. sometimes if i'm in a rush or don't have a pocket for it i'll leave it in.. although it's kinda funny when you walk and see ppl talking to themselves ;)
