I can\'t say for sure but I\'m also running 17x7 +40 and they\'re a real tight fit when I lowered my 3 with Espelir springs. I imagine if you\'re running 225\'s they\'ll probably rub.

+40 is kinda small....+45 or higher is better

225 and 40 offset with S-Tech, I think it\'d rub. Go for some mild drop such as H-Tech and Pro-Kit.

A 40 offset is okay for a 7.5\" rim but not a 7\". For a 17 x7 you need 45+ a offset because it is very close to optimal. Optimal is 46.5 so that way you are no closer to the strut housing and 12mm out to the edge of the fender. Running 225 45 17 lowered will rub indefinately. 225 40 17 you might have a better chance but you should stick to 215 45 17. and to be sure 40s might be safer.

I am running 17 x 7.5 with a 40 offset where optimal is 39.5 and if I want 225s ill need 225 40\'s.

I ran some numbers

17 x 7\" with a 45mm offset with 225 45 17 works
If you wants the 225s go to 40, best option available. But I think I would still stick with 215s, up to you.
