Europe and Japan have Corolla hatch selling for a while, so it could be again only available in Euro and Japanese market.:( and I think we have to wait till 08 for new Corolla and Matrix design

The top of the line Corolla hatch in Europe is supercharged with 215hp. Why don\'t we ever get the good stuff here - I want the Focus ST!

finally....the world is excited about the hatch! This one has elements of the 3 stylewise.
Europe has always been intrigued with new concepts and lifestyles - North America with excess.
It will be interesting to see a resurgence in CAR\'s after drivers bail from their hulking SUV\'s and minivans. Mazda should step up to Hybrids and follow Honda/Toyota\'s lead into the future.

North Americans\' own oxymoron term: Toyota Performance

Not that Toyota necessarily needs help selling the Corolla, but if they release one that looks like that here in North America, watch out!

The SVT competes with the SRT4.

The Cosworth would do awesome because it would dominate the EVO & STI market. It has more power than both of \'em...! :D :D

Good to see that Toyota has improved the exterior styling. Looks quite modern and current.

Don\'t they have a TRD supercharger for the current Corolla? I wonder it would fit the 2007 models? If so, it could really give the Mazda3 and Civic stiff competition.

That new Corolla just looked identical to a MAZDA PREMACY (with some kind of appearance package) available in the Asian market for yrs, if anyone know which model I am pointing to......Not really impressed, plus from a side view, more like a replica of the SiRat. :D

The reason we don\'t get these awesome powerful hatches is simple, are you willing to pay $40,000 + for one? In Japan and Europe they have no problem paying that much for a small powerful hatch but it would never fly here. In Europe you can get 230 + hp hatch\'s from Renault, Vauxhaul, Ford etc that are smaller then our 3\'s but they\'re just too damn expensive. It\'s like the Mazda\'s overseas, they offer AWD on most models, but they never make their way over here because enough people aren\'t willing to pay the extra cost.

The ST starts at 17,495.00 GBP = 36,404.48 CAD.
Seems competitive to me. I\'d buy it over a WRX.

Here\'s some eye candy - I\'ve been obsessing over this car ever since they released the concept. If only Ford would bring it over here. :(

The downside is, if we ever got one over here (which I doubt) it\'s going to suck because Ford America will get a hold of it first :sarc

probably won\'t fit... supercharger was only compatible with the 03-04 model. The 05 model uses electronic throttle body, so it\'s not compatible with the supercharger. I would assume any new corolla would use similar technology, but hey... you never know.... I\'m sure TRD may try to make a better presence for its self in north america, well at least i hope they would

The European Ford Focus is a lovely car. Not sure if too many Canadians would wanna fork over almost 40K (with taxes) on a Ford.

The 2007 Corolla does look like the older Civic hatch and also the Protege 5.
