View Full Version : Clutch Vibration

I drive a 2.0l 5-speed. Recently, after a month of owning the car, I start to find that there\'s a high frequency chattering or vibration clearly felt by the left foot on the clutch pedal while depressing it to shift into another gear. There\'s no vibration when it\'s fully disengaged (i.e. in the fully depressed state), it\'s always in the process of disengaging. Surprisingly, once I hit into the next gear and slowly engage the clutch, there\'s no vibration. It\'s only in the disengagement phase. Does anyone else have this issue? It\'s not terrible or anything, it\'s just that I\'ve never felt that for the first 4 weeks of driving the car.

Cool.. and I thought I was being paranoid..

My friend who drives an 05 civic drove my car and said \'what vibration?\'
So I guess it\'s common across all makes.. maybe when the car is new.. things are not worn out at all.. hence the smoothness in some \'areas\' and the roughness in \'others\'. ;)

I have the same vibration sometimes. I believe it\'s the new hydrolic (spelling) clutches. You feel much more vibrations in the clutch pedal.

I bought my 3 in May of this year and never experienced any vibration from the clutch until now. I\'m a little concerned because like all of you mentioned in this thread, it\'s during the \"disengaging stage\". Have any of you brought this concern up with your dealers yet?

The vibration is felt because of the VERY SOFT trans mount.....

I bought the inserts from CorkSport - And the vibration is gone------

Do yourself a favour and replace the #3 mount and the trans mount.....
