You heard it here first..
If you have a 2006 and are sick of the -----km on the trip computer... lets get it fixed.
Call your local service and book your appointment.
The whole thing takes about 45 mins and is being paid for by Mazda Canada.
Don\'t forget to stop by and say hi to me....
Jeff :D

Hey Jeff,
Can you add mine to the list to have it done before I pick it up, or will it already have the fix?
Cheers,
Glen

Jeff,
What is the fix? Does mazda flash the radio or replace it?
Thanks

Thanks Jeff,
I\'ve booked my appointment with Anthony. Why does it take so long (a normal flash of the software should not take more than a few minutes), is there any hardware component that has to be replaced?

Hi Jeff,
Is this repair something that my local Mazda dealer will be aware of? I\'d be more thn pleased to come visit your dealership, only that I\'m a couple of hours away in London.
Needless to say, I\'ll give them a call anyway to find out if they can do it...especially since my vehicle is only 4 1/2 days old.
Thanks for any advise you can provide.

I believe Jeff is away on Vacation this week, however your local dealer should be aware of the fix by now.

Did the upgrade today at Avante. So far the only difference is that instead of 3 lines I have a big 0 on the display even though the tank is 1/4 full. I thought it\'s going to change after I drive a while but after driving the whole day it still tells me I can go 0 kilometers with the remaining of the gas.:( Go figure...

Go fill up the tank tomorrow and you\'ll see the difference.
I had it fixed since last Friday and I can\'t say it\'s very accurate, but it\'s certainly good enough as a rough estimate. It sure did make me happy when it showed 615KM remaining when I filled up the tank. :D

How did you get it to say 615KM remaining??? I filled mine up after I got the fix and it said 443KM ramaining which is about what I got out of the full tank?
do i need to wait til the gas light goes on to see how many kms remaining or can i just go now and get it fix?

The KM remaining will be based on average fuel consumption...perhaps you drive a little more agressively then he does?

Hi _Naz,
You can do the flash whenever you want, there\'s no need to wait till the light comes on. They will just update the software for the onboard computer so no worries. On the other hand keep in mind that it will start showing you info only after your first gas refil.

Is anybody else having any problems with the clock not keeping the time? I had the fix for the trip computer done and they said it should fix the clock problem as well and I just noticed yesterday that the clock was off by 45 minutes again. I guess the trip computer fix didn\'t fix the clock as they said it would. I guess we are going to have to wait for Mazda Canada to come out with another patch for that!

Does anybody know what they do? do they just put a cd in that flashes the unit? or do they take it out and connect it to a machine to flash?

I noticed my clock slowly falling behind. I\'ve set the car\'s clock to sync with the time on my cell which is sync to the clock I follow for work. After a week I noticed that the car\'s clock was 10mins behind.

It\'ll give you a proper reading after your first fill up....mine says I should be getting 580km to a tank, and so far it\'s gonna be pretty close!
