Anybody have a xbox 360 yet (I do :)) or getting one?

Hey Guys,

I won an xbox 360 from the Pepsi Contest and will receive it today. I was wondering if anyone else has won one or plans on getting it next week?

Actually the X-Box I currently have I also won so congratulations! I probably won\'t buy a new one until later. I also want to wait until someone figures out how to \"hack\" it!!!

Thanks :) I\'m actually not going to \"hack\" the 360 (already have modded xbox & PS2) as I want to play online. Also, it won\'t be long before a chip is available, as one of the biggest modchip company\'s already has 2 360\'s to play with ;)

my buddy said COD 2 is teh sux0rz on the 360 and his PC with just 9800 SE looks WAAAY better.. that\'s what sux about consoles.. the gfx cards get outdated b4 the system comes out.. *sigh*

I\'ve heard the exact opposite :p If you guys are trying the demo versions at shops like EB, make sure they set them up right, as most of them have it set-up to use 480i instead of 1080i :sarc

I will be playing the waiting game on this one. Launch titles and first year titles are generally slight improvements over the previous generation consoles, plus with the launch of the PS3 this time next year...who knows!

The core system (waste of money) is $399 and the Premium package is $499, although they\'re currently selling on ebay for $1000 usd (some people are nuts).

I\'ll probably get a PS3 too, but this will keep me busy for a year until it comes out :(

how do you play the contest?? I entered in my # from my doritos bag and nothing.. do you have to input ur # every hour or just the one time??

the contest didn\'t seem very clear and the # on my doritors bag was soooooooo small that I had to rip the bag apart to find it.. I actually used a pair of scissors and cut right through the # so I had to tape them back together..

Sony is doing the right thing by suspending production of these products. Sony has intellectual property to protect with it\'s acquisition of Hollywood movie and recording studio properties - so it was not surprising that it took this action originally. I would counter that MS is the king of evil as damage to key systems is ongoing and they are out to \"rule the world\". Sony is only interested in a portion of the world - ultimately they are all Corporations bent on TOTAL control.

I\'ll still bet my money on Mr. Jobs - a truly inspired genius who continues to create gold in all he touches currently. The Apple OS was copied as \"windows\" as was certain functionality known as \"trash can\" that became \"recycle bin\" for most of us. For some \"the world is not enough\".

The contest is now over. You had to register first on the website, then you could enter as many pins as you wanted each hour from the pepsi products you bought, or you could get 1 free pin each hour from the website.

I had a chance to play the 360 last night and it\'s amazing!!!! I have the 360 hooked up to my 62\" Toshiba DLP HDTV and it looks stunning. Currently I only have Kameo to play and eventhough it\'s not my type of game (hoping to get COD 2 & PGR 3 today) it looks amazing, with vivid colours and no jaggies.

The wireless remote is one of the best I\'ve ever used (even better then the Gamecube one) and it\'s cool that you can turn the xbox off from it (not sure if you can turn the system on from it, I haven\'t tried, although you can from the remote). The power supply is HUGE and weighs a ton and the 360\'s fans are pretty loud (no louder then most gaming pc\'s though) and it get\'s pretty hot after an hour of play, so it needs plenty of ventilation.

I haven\'t used xbox live yet as it\'s not up and running until Nov 22 (you can log on but there\'s nothing to download) but the menues etc look way better then the old xbox.

I hooked my ipod up the 360 usb port and it automatically recognizes it and plays the music in the background of the game you\'re playing.

I highly recommend the 360 to anyone with an HDTV, if you don\'t have an HD set, I would say there\'s no need to get the 360 as you won\'t be using it to it\'s full potential and it won\'t look like a next gen console.

1* xbox360 will be come \"playable\" (more content, games, etc) around Sony PS3 launch (probably, next May);
2* need to wait for a mod chip;

at the client site here in Vancouver Microsoft was offering demos of the 360. the client here has several 50\" (maybe bigger???) plasma screens so they hooked up the 360 to that. they were showing the NBA game and the graphics looked great. i was floored. but i\'m still gonna wait till the ps3 comes out - i have the xbox and i\'m not a fan of the limited title selection and the fact that the granturismo series isn\'t offered for it...:sarc

I\'m guessing you haven\'t played Forza for xbox? I\'m a huge PS2 and GT fan but Forza kills GT4.

Yes Sony is going with blue-ray and MS is going with HD-DVD (not available yet) but it\'s already been stated that they won\'t be using this technology for games yet, only dvd\'s.

Update:

So for any of you guys that are getting a 360 tomorrow, I\'ve been playing the following games:

PGR3 - The scenery looks great, but the gameplay etc isn\'t much different from PGR2

COD 2 - Is simply awesome..Great gameplay, awesome sound (if you have surround sound)and killer graphics

Kameo - Looks amazing, just not my type of game

NHL 2K6 - Looks better then the xbox version and they\'ve added a couple of new features

Condemned - Haven\'t played a lot of this game, but it looks great and the sound is killer (great use of DD 5.1).


I can\'t wait until tomorrow so more people will be on Live.

I\'m sure there\'s plenty of Hacks out there that will produce a mod to get around the copy protection.

Damn, pretty much sold out! everywhere I called. LOL.
