so the white fluff fell..
the white fluff fell on my car..
the white fluff needed to be brushed off..
i guess it was a litte cold overnight..
i didn\'t use much force (long brush, held at the end)..
the stubby broke off * faaaaaaaaaack *
well if the stubby broke in half i\'d be happy, but the stubby broke RIGHT AT THE BASE :sarc - prettyy much flush with it so
1) i can\'t take it out with my hands (maybe pliers)
2) i can\'t put a new stubby in - reception is still \'ok\'
anyone else broke it off like that? (i\'ll post a pic later) how did you remove it??
i guess i could try drilling the sucker out but do you guys have any ideas on how to get it out? i guess i\'ll need a new base ~40bux and a new stubby ~20bux but i don\'t want to tear off the headliner *sigh*
so anyway.. a heads up.. be careful around the stubby !!! it lasted last year\'s winter tho.. :sarc

Can you try and glue the stubby back on temporarily? All you need is for it to hold enough for you to try and unscrew the broken part out.
Sorry to hear, and that \"nubby\" comment was hilarious :D

Wow thats gotta suck..!! I had stacks of snow this morning on my car and i was in a rush so i just brushed off the snow like whatever and hit the stubby a few times but it seems pretty tight as of now. I\'ll keep an eye on it. Thx for the heads up

bastard.. :p (there\'s no \"grrrr\" image so I have to use that..)
on a serious note, try cutting a potato in half, jam it into the base of the antenna and twist it off.. if it works on lightbulbs it may work on an antenna.. let us know if that works.. u might have to boil the potato for like a couple of minutes just to soften it up enough so you can jam it into the antenna base.. mind you, I\'ve never cut an unboiled potato in half so I don\'t know how hard/soft they are straight out of the bag..
oh, and a bag of potatoes at no frills is $2-2.50.. food basics is also cheap..

at times like this you should be trading in your old car for a 3:D !

what about using a screw out or what ever they are called from canadian tire (mastercraft screw out i think they are called) that they use to remove stripped or rusted screws with? I think they have different sizes that might work. see if you can get one smaller that the size of the piece that is stuck and you might be able to get the piece out without destroying the threading. you might be able to salvage some of it.
Disclaimer : I have never tried this and is presented as a theorectical solution :)

thats...
very strange lol. seems like the stubbys are really weak. like seriosuly i think i have the aerio stubby, and ive been through countless touchless washes and hit it several times by accident (not just today, though it had its fair share of wackings XD) and it never broke!
lol wake its going to bnreak sometimes toniight... damn me.
umm aright at the base of the connector with the thread? or right at the base of the plastic? lol i would suggest needle nose pliers but i actually dont get how u\\r thing is.
good luck!

http://xs56.xs.to/pics/05475/IMG_3174.jpg
so i didn\'t look at them till i uploaded them to my home PC and i spazzed a tad in the morning.. lol.. anyway.. there was like 1mm of thread that i could grab with needle nose pliers and loosened it a tad.. then i just used my fingers and voila.. it came off.. boy that thread is REALLY thin
http://xs56.xs.to/pics/05475/IMG_3184.jpg
anyway.. the stock antenna is in and Joe, you\'ll be hearing from me soon :D i guess i always wanted the JDM stubby.. hehehe..

If you ask me, Majoogle broke that poor Aerio stubby on purpose just to get a JDM antenna and this whole thread was started to \"justify\" that purpose. :(

Dude you don\'t know your own strength.
it looks like it just sheared right off... hmmm being a materials engineer and all I\'m seriously wondering how it could break so easily? I\'d like to examine the fracture surface more closely... damn sorry *nerd mode off*
sometimes i can\'t help it.:(
