Hi
Just wondering if anyone here can hook me up with a sweet deal at some hotel in New York City. Hotel recommendations are welcome. I\'ve never been there and was thinking of catching a flight/train/bus to the Big Apple for a few days (Dec 2/3 to Dec 6).
Thanks in advance.

I can\'t help you other than to say get ready for one expensive trip! My bro just got back from there for work.....he stayed at a normal Sheraton type hotel for two nights, and his bill came to $1,100USD! The only charges outside of room charges were a couple of bottles of water.

My advice is to go online to www.hotel.com. Do a search and you will find some great deals. Don\'t however book with them. Get the number of the hotel and call them directly and you will save a bit more.
Unless you plan on staying in a dump most hotels in New York will run approx $250/night. That\'s U.S. currency. Fun city though.

I think I paid $200/CAN a night at the New Yorker in Manhattan a block away from Madison Square Garden.

i hear the Plaza is nice!
:p
I drove down to NYC earlier this year, and stayed at the Radisson in Jamaica (near the airport). IIRC it cost about $400 for 2 nights, which I shared with a friend, so $200.
btw - parking in Manhattan is very expensive.

If you drive to NYC yourself, stay at NJ instead of near NYC, cause it would be cheaper. give me sometime, I may find you which hotel I stayed in Aug and around $78US/night for 2 double-bed room.

+1 on this one.. if you want deals on accomodations.. it\'s better to stay in New Jersey and if you don\'t want to park in the city... take the NJ transit to either port authority or port union... i think it would be less than $5 one way.... The trip won\'t take too long and you won\'t have to pay tolls. Just my two cents.

Thanks folks. Maybe I\'ll be able to afford the trip if I drive down and sleep in my car :D

Watch out for bedbugs.
For serious... there was a thing on CNN early tonight about bed bugs in NY hotels... especially in the more posh hotels.
Just passing on what I saw.... sleeping in the car might not be a bad idea. :)
