Well they might be a different orange. I sprayed mine with marking paint. It really doesn't stick well but it damn well glows in the dark. :chuckle

got her first oil change last wed. nov. 2nd 2011, 2650 km on the odo and its gonna be her first winter :(....sucks i gotta put her through hell but oh well.

running on 16'' steelies from mazda and 205/55/16 General Altimax Arctic tires. very quiet tires...so far!

Just gonna go next week hopefully to wash, and fully detail the car before winter sets in.

Careful with those though - IIRC a couple years ago there was a young woman in Gatineau who died when her car-tent collapsed on top of her after a heavy snow load.

Most of the people in my girlfriend's home town of Baie-Comeau have them in their driveways, but then they get on average about 1 foot of snow every 4-6 days in one snow fall over night. I went there in early March one year and the snow was so deep on all their front lawns that their tents had about 3 feet thick of snow on top of all of them drifting over from their lawns. about 4 or 5 homes in a row were like that, it looked funny. Snow can sometimes get deep enough in their front yards that it goes to about 1/2-3/4 way up their front windows against the houses.

Thanks bro, those are 16"s with winter tires, lol. Had the same one last year and I was too lazy and cheap to get it powdercoated. I'm using my gf's 2001 Protege (the one you saw!). Since I work 10 mins away from my house now, I'll be using her car everyday. lol

thanks guys! I coated it first with some transparent plasti-dip lying around.. wasn't too sure if I would regret the colour. Then I went to homedepot and picked whatever colour I wanted (I chose copper). I did it a bright green before but I wasn't feeling it... copper from the onset kinda looked a bit weird but as it got more dirty it looked better. I think it will look awesome at night or once winter hits (plus it's growing on me).

Next year I'll do a blinging gold...

i decided to take them off. i think the hubcaps (thanks to dave) look better without them (better suited to thin muti-spoked alloys) even though they were very well designed and executed (thanks to brian). although i do wish that i had taken a pic with them on for the sake of all the time spent on the process.

Just pick these up a couple of months ago from Go For Tires. The deal they gave me for the rims, mounting and install was way too good to pass up. Flush with the body, Joe and Phil saw them at Frankie's and were wondering if I had spacers on! lol

Wish I had more time.....would have loved to have them powdercoated. From the pics, you can see this was at the dealership service area. They had me come by to make sure that I approved of the winter set up. Seems 18 inch performance winter tires and alloys take some time this far into the winter season.

I drive it a couple of days a week when roads are clear. Most of the time, I drive my gf's car especially when it's snowing or snow is still high.
I didn't get the car rust proofed this year too, so I'm more cautious in taking it out..

I was actually driving with my car like that. That night when I drove from Quebec City on the north side of the St Lawrence took me about 11 hours when it usually takes 5. I could barely see through the snow going 40-50 km/h over the mountains the whole time. Some places were getting a foot an hour because the mountains there trap in the clouds at places. The next real town west from Baie-Comeau is a place called Forestville, and just after I made it safe to my girlfriend's place (with her older sister I picked up in Trois-Riviere) the SQ had actually shut down the highway to all traffic between those two towns. The plows couldn't even get through it.

What I'm trying to say is my car didn't just sit there and get dumped on. Who cares about that? :P
