If a cop pulled me over for having snow on my license plate I'd be pretty pissed off. Do they expect me to stop every 100m to clean it off? I do clean it when I brush off my windows, but by the time I get to my destination it's covered again.

It would be an obstruct plate charge ($110)

if a cop gives a ticket for having snow on your rear plate when its snowing i would tell him i think he is a dick and see him in court

Impressive

if a cop gives a ticket for having snow on your rear plate when its snowing i would tell him i think he is a dick and see him in court

And you would still be left with the ticket, along with an a cop who would be undoubtedly more determined to **** you in the ass (no homo).

drove my Mazda for the first time in the snow. Although Im on all seasons, she handled MUCH MUCH better than my grand-am (granted, it was on low pros). I was surprised at well she did, considering she was gripping much better than most of the other cars on the road. SUPER happy about this :hawt

This is after driving up to my sisters house in Pembroke on Tuesday. Five hour drive through first rain then snow.
2-3 inches of solid ice built up. I managed to pull the ice off the fogs and the license plate, but the rest was not going to come off. It melted off tonight when I got back into Toronto lol.

Hopefully, and under the car, and steel wool in the exhaust tip. Mice in the engine usually = writeoff.

I have a quick question. The temps dipped on the weekend to 0°C in the mornings/ overnights. I still have my summer tires on. When I just pulled out of my parking spot, the wheels would spin/screech/wheel hop but 5 min later it seemed to go away with normal driving. Does the friction from 5 min of driving really aid traction that much?
Switching them next weekend as this week looks pretty nice.

When I just pulled out of my parking spot, the wheels would spin/screech/wheel hop but 5 min later it seemed to go away with normal driving. Does the friction from 5 min of driving really aid traction that much?
Switching them next weekend as this week looks pretty nice.

Definitely. Depending on the compounds used, some better then others, alot of all-seasons and most definitely summer tires will 'harden' with cold temps. Making them difficult to achieve proper traction when cold. Once driven for a while they will warm up though. My Falkens are horrible under 5-8C degrees for instance.

My coopers are sketchy below 5° but they seem better after I drive around for 5 min. Thanks.

Also consider that the ground of your parking spot and surrounding area will be colder than the roads cars are constantly travelling on. That combined with your tires could make a significant temperature difference.

Just out of curiosity. What's the car color on your ownership and insurance? I've always wondered being multi colored

Made the switch this last weekend. First wheel off and I found a blown CV boot. No problem, I have extended warranty for another year.... Or so I thought. It ran out 3 weeks ago and I didn't make use of it once. FML.

I'm not sure if there is a winter tire thread, but I figured this fit, has anyone ever used Hankook W310 tires? They are the best deal I can get from my supplier, just not sure which tire to go with.

Other options are,

I-Pikes for same money as W310 without a mail in rebate.
XI3's for 60 dollar more each tire.

Both cars in winter mode. New rims for my Elantra for next summer (Fast Hayaku's) and some big changes for my 3 come spring. Have Hyperion making a set of headlights for me (blacked out with angel eyes) which will be on when they're ready, getting dropped on some Gen 1 Eibach pro kit springs, magnaflow exhaust, and some VIP Status Fabulous rims. 2015 is looking good.
