Damn i hate insurance companies... Apparently one at-fault insurance. one minor conviction for that accident and one minor speeding ticket, means that i am now a high risk driver. My company is cancelling my policy and sending me to a facility insurance company. My rates are about to triple for the next year or so untill the accident is off my record.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to attempt lower rates?

hmmm, sounds pretty major but it would depend on what actually happened..

I\'m using State Farm.. they gave me the lowest rates.. they (just like most if not all other insurance companies) will give u a quote over the phone..

When did this all occur?
Was it over a short period of time?
How long have you been driving?
What is your rating with your insurance company?
How long have you been insured?
How long have you been with your current insurance company?

All this will effect your rate.

The accident and first charge for \"failure to share road when overtaking\" were back in feb 2004

The second charge was speeding 29 over andit was in may of this year.

I have been driving for 16 years and i have been insured all that time.

I am waiting on quote confirmation from insurance hotline.com. I tried Kanetix.ca and they had higher rates.

yup, that\'s prolly hurting you the most, that\'s considered highly dangerous and careless driving. that\'ll stain your record for the next 5 years, if you haven\'t beat it yet, hopefully u didn\'t plead guilty, and you tried to get it reduced.

With the high cost of insurance you should always fight speeding tickets especially if they involve points. Within a two-year period I received 3 speeding tickets approximately @130.00 each. In all cases the officer decided to reduce the speed I was caught at to reduce the fine. At the time I considered myself lucky and just paid the fine knowing that no points were involved..

Then I received a letter from my insurance company stating they were transferring me to their \"BAD BOY\" policy. I paid $55.00 more every month for two years. After clean driving record for two years they put me back on the regular policy. Do the math $55 x 24 months = $1320 more in insurance. All because I was trying to be honest about it in paying the $390.00 dollars in fines.

Always fight the speeding tickets. I\'ve been told this many times now and I\'ve learned it the hard way.

If you\'re out of luck with those sites you may want to call a few insurance brokers.
