do NiMH batteries lose their charge in the cold?
I left my camera bag in the car for a couple days and all 16
of my batteries are dead! (my camera takes 4 at a time :( )

what about good old alkalines? I remember as a kid,
my grandfather would keep his batteries in the egg
compartment in the fridge lol

umm

to my knowledge batteries only lose their charge if not used for a very long time, or plugged into the device for along time without using it. nimh hold good charges and i dont thikn they are effected by cold.

i left my flashlight, v60, and t616 in my car for awhile now and they are still doing well, except for the 616 lol, battery neeeds to be recharged on that one.

EDIT: the batteries used in those dvices are liion or akaline though

NiMH perform less or just plain die in below freezing temps. Warm them up before using or charge them for 5 to 10 mins before using when brought out of the cold.

most batteries will lose their charge in freezing temp, rechargable or not, just bring them back to warmer area and they will be working again.

Happened to me this weekend:
the battery would just die in the freezing weather - fortunately, I keep a spare battery in my warm jacket ;)

Once I got back in the wormth the battery would regain the full charge - I didn\'t even bother recharging it! Those damn batteries...
