Hey, it must be getting close to that time of the year to start thinking about storing your winter tires :)

Canadian Tire has their tire stand (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669458&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443283745&ASSORT MENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1134494831 474&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) on sale for $25.99 again.

Although I still believe we will have at least one or two more good snow storms no matter how great this month has been.

Here (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=1243&page=1) is another thread on how to store your tires. This stand was also mentioned in there.

Now I feel welcomed to the club. I personally think you\'re not welcomed until Majic complains on your thread :)

I didn\'t bump the other thread because not everyone reads every single post on this website. We also browse these forums differently.

Personally I find some people go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the original thread and when that starts to happen for many pages, I eventually stop reading it. There is nothing wrong with going off on tangents, that\'s just what happens and can make for some interesting reading. Since I stop reading a particular thread I can miss out on something informative or time sensitive (such as a sale that is only going on for 1 week).

Say for example someone already knows how to store their summer tires, they might not bother reading the post and miss out on the sale. You would hope they would read the post to at least contribute to it but hey, they might not have the time. So bumping up that thread would do them no good.

Or someone might be interested in the \"How to store their summer tires\" but couldn\'t care less about the tire rack, so if I would have posted in that thread then they would have read it for nothing. This way, if they are not interested, they wouldn\'t even have to open this thread.

While someone might read this thread and post up a better storage rack to buy or comment about the crappy tire rack.

So...Majic, don\'t take my above opinion personally, I\'m just saying to realise we all do things differently.

BTW, I do like how you post links to other relevant threads or do searches for people here. Not everyone is good at doing so. Yes, sometimes I do get sucked into following the never ending links from one site to another and then kicking my self in the @ss for it because there were other things I should have been doing instead.

P.S. I remember reading a thread on breaking in a new car that included not only breaking in the engine but the brakes too. I\'ve tried doing a search but for the life of me can\'t find it! You think you can give me a hand? :D LOL

here\'s (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=71#979) the break in you speak of :)

A noob with spine! Great! We\'ve all been trying to muzzle that majic for the longest time now, but that guy\'s everywhere. We need all the help we can get. Unfortunately, a lot of noobs these days view his writings as gospel and, crap, you\'ve seen what that does to majic\'s head...

Back to the topic, I picked one up this weekend to store my summer tires. I could have just left them in the tire plastic bags, but the stand comes in pretty handy, especially with the cover.

Got mine back during X-mas sale for almost the same price. Very easy to install and my summer tires look way better on the stand than in the tire bags on the floor.

does it really make a big difference tire wise?? that is, is it \"better\" to use a tire stand?? I just piled the tires on top of each other on the floor in my apt..

I wouldn\'t say it makes a difference tire wise. They\'re still stacked the same way, they just don\'t touch the floor (because of the base of the stand).

I thought it should coz the full weight of the tires do not rest on top of each other with the bottom one being the most likely to be majorly affected. Each tire is supported through the plastic piece that the rim rest on. As such, come spring time, there shouldn\'t be any problems like air leak and such with any of the tires.

I have one, works great and keeps things nice and tidy. The tires are not touching anything.
