OK, the Check Engine Light was on last night on my way home, it did scare the shit out of me coz I\'ve never experienced with this. So I rushed myself to Scarborough Mazda early in the morning today. They checked the car and returned me to in 1 hr or so. Telling me there is an \"Evac Pump\" was causing the problem (in fact he was like mumbling his words, I can\'t really hear what he was saying). I\'ve never heard that component (if anyone here can refer to that), so I asked him what does that thing do, he said it was something to do w/the emission control, and neither he didn\'t really want to show me the diagnostic report he had on hand, he just told me to book an appointment in a later day to have that replace under the warranty. I left the dealer with full confusions. Can anyone here give me some information about that component and works regarding this? Thanks.....

actually to tell u somethin, i had teh same prob on the highway, i took it to my dealership and they said the same pump, and they replaced it... again, for some reason the guy was also mumbling, but i didint bother to ask him wtf he was sayin so i left lol..... the next day i had to take it there again to get my fuel cap replaced, same light was on and my uel cap was messed up, wouldnt tie properly.
back to teh pump, i thought i was the only one wit that prob but i guess not, wonder why these people mumble about certain things, i felt like they prob did somethin and diidnt want us knowin anythin. apparently teh valve from that \"evac pump\" wasnt working properly.

My check engine light has come on twice. First time the Purge Valve had to be replaced and the second time I felt like a dumb@ss because it was from my fuel cap being not tightened properly.
