Cracked Windshield

Hello all
i went to church this morning and when i left church i saw a big crack in my windshield
the crack is about 12 inches long :(
anyways does anybody know of a good place where i can go and get my windshield replace?
and what happends to the rain sensor whipers
im i going to lose that also?

Sorry about your luck. Mine has been cracked for almost a year now. I called a few different places when it first happened and all the quotes were like $800 because of the rain sensor. What is your insurance deductible for a Comprehensive claim? Most are like $300 so you could get it fixed for that, and keep the rain sensor. My deductible is $500 which sucks. I will be biting the bullet and getting it replaced. I was actually going to start a similar thread until I saw yours as I am also interested in what others may suggest or may have done.

Check out the crack repair place at the Canadian Tire on Hwy 7/Bayview-ish. They claim to be able to repair long cracks. Doesn\'t hurt to get an estimate.

I\'m in the same boat. In early December I somehow got a chip just below the wipers (parked wiper position) on the drivers side. Since it was covered by the wiper I didn\'t notice. Now, 3 months later, I have a crack that is easily twelve inches long, and splits off in a Y shape. The good news is taht for the last month, the crack hasn\'t grown.

I would fix it, if I had the $$$ to. I\'m tight on cash at the moment, but I hope to have it fixed by the time spring rolls around. The beswt quote I got for a Rain-sensing Winshield glass replacement was $640, cash, taxes in.

I have a case of the \"Run away crack\"! Two days ago, I had a stone struck my windshield on the 401. It left a crack that was just on the point of contact and thought that I\'ll visit the Canadian Tire people on Saturday. Lo and behold, I woke up this morning and its alreading more than 4 inches long ! I am afraid of how long this is going to be tomorrow.

I am supposed to drive to Ottawa next week - I hope there will be enough space for me to see the road ! Whats different with these Mazda Windshields ? I\'ve had cracks with other cars, but nothing like this one.
