Hello Everyone

After many months of trying to find a decent supplier for the P.I.E. line of products, we would like to announce the availability of this line again at LOCKDOWN Enterprises Inc.!

For those of you who are not aware of this product line, P.I.E. is the manufacturer of AUX inputs and IPOD adapters for many types of vehicles, one of which is the MAZDA3. For many of you who contacted us over the last few months, we regretfully informed you our old supplier was not able to provide us with stock on the parts we required for the Mazda3, thus our search began for a new supplier who we have now secured!

We will be posting pricing and an ETA on our first order in the next coming days, in the meantime if there is a part that you would like to inquire about please drop us a line and we would be glad to assist you. For more information on the P.I.E. product line-up, please check out their website at:

www.pie.net

We look forward to hearing from everyone, please contact us at:

Just curious after you get it installed do you get a new audio in port?

Or does a wire just hang out from the ash tray?

Hello Everyone

The PIE adapter for the Mazda3 is an AUX in adapter, meaning it will allow you to connect an audio input to the factory head-unit. Any accessory such as an IPOD, MP3 player, walkman etc. that has an audio output (or headphone jack) can be plugged directly in to the factory Mazda 3 head to be listened to through all speakers in the vehicle.

The PIE adapter does not allow DIRECT CONTROL of an IPOD through the Mazda 3 head unit, only the ability to have it\'s audio output played through the speakers of the car. There is currently no adapter as of yet that will allow that functionality from PIE or from other manufacturers as far as we know.

We have a shipment of Mazda 3 adapters coming in late next week so this will be an item we will be keeping in stock at our location.

+1.. I\'m wondering the same thing.. but install should be easy, correct?? :)

I did see on the website (www.pie.net) that they mentioned the steering wheel controls can in fact control an ipod.. I guess the one you\'re selling doesn\'t allow you to??

oh, and is the PIE adapter different for a regular mp3 player and the ipod?? ie, the ipod adapter will charge the unit.. thanks in advance..

Hello Everyone

From everything I have searched for on the PIE application data, there is currently no adapter from them that will function on a Mazda3 to directly inteface and charge an IPOD in the Mazda3. I have sent them an email (tech support dept.) to find out the exact answer to this question, as that would be a very cool accessory to have in the Mazda3 if it was indeed available.

We just received our initial shipment of mazda3 AUX adapters today (Feb.23) so we now have them in-stock and will continue to keep these in-stock at all times. Our pricing on the AUX adapter for the mazda3, which consists of two parts is as follows:

MAZ/PC-ALP : $109.99 plus taxes
ALP/M-RCA: $19.99 plus taxes

Total Price: $129.99 plus taxes with FREE INSTALLATION!!

In terms of the installation, the MAZ/PC-ALP plugs into the extra multipin plug on the back of the Mazda3 radio, and the ALP/M-RCA in turn plugs into the MAZ/PC-ALP.

Again, these items are instock and available for purchase here at LOCKDOWN Enterprises Inc.

hey pearl, jeff\'s first paragraph actually answers ur question.. he says there isn\'t one from this particular company but he\'s trying to verify it.. I guess the worst case scenario is that you can just use the cigarette adapter from future shop to charge the ipod..

Hello Everyone

Just to clarify the posting here:

THIS PART WILL NOT CHARGE OR OFFER MAZDA3 RADIO CONTROL OVER AN IPOD. IT IS AN AUDIO INPUT ADAPTER ONLY AND CAN BE USED WITH ANY EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCE (ie: IPOD, MP3 player, laptop, DVD player, etc.)

This part will offer you the ability to play any external audio source through your factory Mazda3 radio, however it WILL NOT OFFER control of that source through the head-unit, only the ability to pipe audio from that source into the head-unit. The only control the head-unit would have would be the volume the source is played at.

Where is lockdown because you sure make this PIE thing sound very tempting. I just have a question where do you usually hang the nput wire with your free install? Is it just behind the sig socket?

Hello Everyone

The input wire can be placed pretty much anywhere requested, some common places on the 3 would be the glove box, the side of the centre console (passenger side usually), the inside of the centre armrest storage pocket etc etc..

LOCKDOWN Enterprises Inc. is located at:

191 Nugget Avenue

Check in the how-to section for a topic relating to this .

I am too lazy to go there right now but i remember reading a post where someone attached his ipod to the HU and charges it using the cig lighter .

thanks.. I saw that.. but I don\'t have an ipod right now.. just a regular mp3 player for now.. plus I like how it\'s open to plug in anything with an audio out jack..

they both have their advantages and disadvantages.. I guess it just depends on what your needs and wants are..

edit: I\'m planning to get this so I\'ll write back once I\'ve tried it out.. but I probably won\'t have time to get it for maybe another week or two.. unless they\'ll open on a sunday for me.. :D

I guess you won\'t be getting these in?? thanks..

Hello ds2chan

That IPOD interface section pertains to applications other than the Mazda3, you\'ll see they have it for Fords, Chryslers, VW, and Audi, but NOT for Mazda applications.

They may in the future release that but there is no information as to when that may happen. Currently from the information I have been able to gather, there is no manufacturers at all who make a direct to IPOD interface for the Mazda 3.
