this device (http://www.thefuelgenie.com/) was found at the 2006 auto show I was very skeptical about the device and I decided not to buy it after talking to their high pressure sales person.
I\'ve read a Consumer Reports review (http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/maintenance-accessories/gassaving-devices-1105-fuel-efficiency-improve-gas-mileage-gas-prices.htm) on this device and I\'m glad I didn\'t buy it but has anyone tried it and can give me an opinion on it?
Personally I think such a device restricts airflow and the \"venturi\" effect the guy was pushing wouldn\'t be enough to counter the airflow impedence. In fact how venturi\'s work is they speed up the airflow due to constriction and once the constriction is widened again the air flow slows to the normal speed. So basically all effects of this venturi would be at the fins of the device and once the air passes the device it gains no additional speed (conservation of energy law).
Causing the air to spin IMO would be a loss for the 3 since in my 3 there isn\'t a long straightaway to allow a cyclonic effect to happen in fact the air would hit a bend and loose the ability to form a tornado like cyclone.
Anyways watch out remain skeptical at the autoshow and if you really do get one let us know how it performs since I was skeptical but I\'ll still keep an open mind for independent reviews.
