Not sure if anyone else is noticing this, I have a one year old Mazda 3 Sedan GT GFX. On the drivers seat, right hand side (on the bolster) there are some ridges starting to form, almost like stress marks.... not sure, its kind of a piss off considering this is only a year old, I\'d hate to picture it in 4 years... I\'ll try to grab pictures later, and btw... Im not a fat ass (its not like im sitting on both sides of the bolster... im right in the middle. ANyone else have this?

I noticed this on my passenger seat; I rarely have passengers but if I do it is my BF
Maybe its a guy thing? (the way you sit?) I dont know but my drivers seat is fine.
It doesnt really bother me though because its barely noticeable

Cloth Upholstery on the passenger side door is coming out of the trim. Driver seat does not have the same feel.

Must be the seating position of the driver/passenger that\'s causing that. Just like that one spot on your couch that you sit on and it leaves a mark.:p

LOL.. I find I got this \"strectch mark\" thing going on too.. left boslter of driver seat.
I drive while leaning towards the right... \"pimp lean\" left hand on the wheel. I rarely actually touch that bolster.. No idea how that happened?? Figured it would happen to the right side bolster.

By the way the car is 2years, 2 months old

Well depending on where the defect is; cushion or cloth it can be replaced.

Mine is Exactly the same...

Personally I think the foam on that side of the bolster is softer or short-shot from the tool. Both are manufacturing defects.

I\'m kind of glad to see some other people have this problem, well not glad to see it, its almost, bitter sweet. If this is happening to everyone, we should all petition Mazda Canada into giving us free leather upgrades, also one million dollars, and have a white rabbit on the front passanger seat at time of pickup... yes... thats it.

How about we have a *Deformed Seat Meet at AVANTE* Get the service Manager to look at them.
We will have old and new cars there to show him. Power in numbers... :)

I will take a pic of my car in the morning.......

Why should we change the way we get out of a car. Everybody gets out of their car the same way. Doesn\'t matter what car/make. The manufacturers Must make the seats/fabric withstand everyday use. Not for months...but for years. My car is 2 years old...my seat is horrible. Not to mention some of the other things I am starting to notice............
I am making a list and heading to M.o.T :hoho

just wondering,

has anyone brought their seat into the dealerships? did they replace it free of charge? lol i kinda doubt its going to be free to replace. =p

i rather keep it the way it is then pay to fix this. and yeah, i wanna get out of my seat however the hell i want. i expect it to keep it shape when i do (within reason to how i get out) lol

oh well

It’s been a while since I posted. I had the same problem with my 2004 mazda 3 driver side seat a year ago. I took it to mazda of Brampton and they agreed this was not normal and replaced the seat/ covering. The good news is it is not doing the same thing and its been about a year.

how bad does it have to be to get it replaced?

Mine is not as bad as the picture but my car is only 5 months old, and only 6,000km on it

doughboyr6

i think mines worse than that in the pic above....my car is 2 yrs old, has more creases than above and both on the side bolsters and bottom one, all on the left hand side of the driver seat

never thought of saying anything to the dealership, guess i should

I know this is an old thread....but has anyone dealt with this issue recently? I've noticed my driver seat is getting worse and the passenger seat is starting with the same problem. I have the Sport package seats on my '05 Mazda GT. Is the dealer going to replace the seats? Manufacturer defeat?

Our stupid seats are fading and the fabric is pilling. I REALLY am getting fed up with the car and NOT ONE call or email from either the dealer or Mazda of Canada.

Asked Erin Mills Mazda about this problem and basically got the run-around....manager needs to see how "severe" the wrinkling is before they will approve a replacement....etc...etc... The fact that the seats are doing this should be severe enough. Rare occurrences is understandable but this seems to be a very commom problem amongst Mazda3 owners. Called Mazda Canada about this issue and the rep that took my call was all in denial mode saying their seats don't have this problem. Not sure where to go from here....may check out another dealer to see what their answer is. Not impressed with Erin Mills Mazda....had another issue with them regarding my rotors/brake pads (btw, can anyone tell me when rotors should normally be replaced?)

My leather seats are already creasing brand new. Is that normal? As for the leather, I guess they don't have a sheen to it and it looks pretty cheap like my computer leather chair at staples.

I have the leather package aswell, and mine are creasing slightly. the car is a year and a couple months old. As for the shine problem I use meguiars rich leather wipes they do the trick and the shine lasts about 2 weeks. I actually find the leather package quite good considering the car isn't actually considered a luxury vehicle. If I can get the seats fixed though I most definitely will.
