The description in the Mazdaspeed brochure says:
Nice sound system. The cat-back sport exhaust is designed to provide an aggresive exhaust note. Stainless steel construction with polished tip that includes the MAZDASPEED logo.

How is the warranty on these items with respect to your car? If someone has these items installed, are the dealerships more friendly, should you have any issues? Or do they still ask you to take off the part and go back to stock for them to look at the car?

I suspect that as long as they were the ones who isntalled it, they have no claim to say that the parts are the cause of any problems or refuse warranty work. If they did, I would be very, very surprised.

The good thing is that they are Mazda parts and not aftermarket. So I don\'t see why any service department would give you grief for the mods.

I want the intake. But one big thing is i want to know how they positioned the filter. If its like the injen then i\'m getting rid of my injen and going for the mazdaspeed. But if it\'s like the AEM then I think i need to reconsider.

Couple more questions;
*Is this single or dual tip?
*What is the diameter of the piping?
*high flow cat?
*how big is the tip? and how does it look?
I am getting anxious! I wants :D

The system has a single slash type SS 4\" tip. Very similar to the Magnaflow system minus the extra resonator. No high flow cat option b/c it is a cat back system. The piping is 2.25\".

Have you ever priced out a Japanese cat-back exhaust? Obviously not because if you had you\'d know that they cost just as much if not more, and considering this is a Mazda part, it really is a decent price.

Yeah, there\'s a short shifter available. I\'ve got it and love! Although there are many (check the U.S. boards) who don\'t b/c of the akward bend that it has towards the driver. I like the bend, b/c it provides a more comfortable feel. The shifts are silky smooth and there\'s a slight reduction in the shifter throw. I paid about $180.00 for mine after taxes and shipping.

MazdaSpeed....
-cheaper than injen
-you can be a mazdaspeed pioneer:)
-mazda cant give you warranty problems
Injen sits a lot higher then the mazdaspeed one...less chance of having to deal with any problems should they arise. No matter what I suggest covering up the filter for protection from water that falls into the fender wall from above.

According to the Mazdaspeed catalog, the lightweight flywheel is classified as an \"orange\" warranty, that being....nothing to do with broli and his jaffa-wagon :sarc

I am unsure of whether or not the CAI and exhaust are also classified as \"orange\", but who knows....
Maybe Joe?
FLIPDADY
02-27-2006, 03:34 PM
The CAI is considered and \"Orange\" performance accesory so it\'s sold as is. While the exhaust system is a \"Green\" performance accesory and has a 1 year/20,000km warranty.

This attention-grabbing wheel (18x8JJ) is a strong one-piece design, and lightweight at only 8.0kg

If an item has this \"orange\" warranty (i.e. none), if something goes wrong with your car as a result of that item, it would still be covered under the manufacturers warranty, correct?
SourcE
02-28-2006, 04:28 PM
Purchaser also acknowledges that there will be no warranty coverage for any part or accessory that fails as a result of the installation of a MAZDASPEED \"Orange\" performance part.
My understanding would be no, they are not covered by warranty, Joe can you confirm?
RedRaptor
02-28-2006, 04:45 PM
I believe Orange means that its just like any other aftermarket part you install on your car. If the CAI causes your car to throw a CEL and other issues, there is no \"warranty\" against that. You would have to pay the dealership to look at your car OR take off the CAI. But if the item is \"defective\", I am sure there is \"warranty\" on the CAI.

I would say there\'s not difference between a CAI for an auto or one for a stick, since both cars has the exact same part and in the same place.
When i bough my injen there was only one for both, so i don\'t think that should be a difference for AEM, or Mazdaspeed, not sure.
But about the CAI i still think they will do the same in a stick or in an auto, maybe in the stick you can get more performance doing 0-60 Km/h.

I just talked to westowne mazda,
and the parts guy told me that the CAI
would be covered under warranty, if it was installed there,
i am not sure what to believe as it seems pretty clear from
that notice (it is from the US though, would canada end up with different codes?,)
maybe he is just tellin me that so i will buy it
or maybe he is just telling me that because, his dealership will
cover anything that happens?
they did cover my MAF sensor when it went like a month ago
i do have an intake, but i get CELs and, i still do need to shield the area
but . . . if i would have warranty coverage i would feel better, i would still
shield the area, probably give them a shield to install with it!

I am really impressed that Mazda is providing warranty on their Mazdaspeed parts. They can potentially tap into a lot of the people on the fence when it comes to modding their car by providing some sort of warranty. I think for a lot of people its not about the money spent, its the hassle of warranty issues. If Mazda continues this trend by providing warranty and reasonable pricing on their Mazdaspeed parts, I don\'t see why anyone would buy an aftermarket product if Mazdaspeed offered the same products.
