Hi Everyone,
Please excuse my ignorance but I am not sure if our cars have timing belts or chains.
Anyways, I have 128,000kms on my 2004 Sport GT, yes that\'s right 128,000km and I know with a lot of cars (Honda, VW, etc) the timing belt should be changed around 120,000km as a preventative measure as it is a much bigger expense to repair should it go unexpectedly. What are your opinions on when it should be changed? I didn\'t see anything about it in my user manual.
Thanks in advance,
Lori

Your best bet would be to call up your dealer and ask if there is a recommended interval for a service like that....
...gee... with that much mileage..you should be asking about all the services recommened not just the belt.
My 2004 GT only has 29,800km :D

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Sabio brought up a good point though, any other maintenance I should be considering at this point?

Spark plugs are suppose to be replaced at 120,000km. The coolant should have been done at 96,000km.

Thanks FlipSpeed. I was planning on doing a std. tune-up (plugs, wires, fuel filter) very soon and I will do the coolant change as well now.

No wires or fuel filter to replace. Fuel filter is part of the fuel pump in the tank and there are ignition coils in place of wires. So just plugs, coolant and oil change.

That\'s what this forum is for. Have any questions or advice and we\'re all here to give it.
I don\'t read my manual either.:p
