View Full Version : Alternative to getting Dealer 6 CD changer/mp3
Hi everyone,
Still waiting for Mazda 3. Only thing i want to add is a 6 cd changer with mp3 capability but the cost is 800 bucks.... even with 20% discount cuz of TM3 it seems like a little much.. Can anyone offer any alternatives? If i dont get it with dealer will it void any warranties with car?
Thanks Everyone.

Search! Now that I got that outta the way....
look up the AUXMOD or PIE interfaces. You can hook up anything with a headphone jack. I used to use a Pocket PC, now I use a full PC, with Nav and audio etc. You can also get a 6 disc changer that will hook up to the stock unit I think.

Well if your dash harness gets fried b/c of an aftermarket install I would have to say no warranty. Did you order the OEM player with your deal? If you included it with your deal it has the same warranty as the car.
I didnt get the 6cd changer/mp3 with my original deal. I am thinking of adding it on as a option. Just wanted to know what my options were and the risks of either getting some company to install something or doing it myself...... is 20% off the best a dealer can do?

Yeah 20% is the highest especially on accessories where there isn\'t that much mark to begin with.

Like midnightfxgt said... do a search. Browse the forum and you\'ll see alot of different options.
For $800 you have ALOT of options.
For one aftermarket MP3 decks are cheaper and can provide overall better sound quality. Depending on the cost of an aftermarket deck you can even hook up a IPod to it. There is a aux mod or pie adaptor that will allow you to do the same with a stock deck.
All really depends on what you wanna spend and your style.... now search... and decide what method is best for you.. good luck.
