Who\'s got FTA setup in there home on this board?

Also,
Currently I\'m running a dual LNB setup pointing to 110 and 119 but I want to pick up 121 to watch all the Asian channels. Does anyone know how to pick up the satellite on 121? I\'ve read that I need a 76cm+ dish and c/ku band LNB.

I have a Viewsat receiver, but I only watch 110 and 119. It\'s been working great for a few months now, and it\'s very easy to re-program.

Good timing for this thread, I planning on posting to see who is using what and how. I want to reduce what I use from Rogers and have been thinking about going to OTA-HD but am curious about FTA as well, so skool me gentlemen!

Since I have no clue about FTA what equipment do I need, where do I get it and once complete what do I get from it?

FTA is great, lots of free channels plus pay ones too. Since the receiver is not provider specific you can basically watch from any hundreds of satellites up there, some free, some not. You just a FTA receiver Coolsat, Pansat, Viewsat, Fortec etc .. (keep away from clone variations though), some BNC cables, a dish and an antenna called LNB. That\'s it.

You can also get fancy by connecting a switch to use more than one dish so you can pickup signals from more than one satellite at a time or use a dish with double, triple or even multiple LNB which will also do the same thing. Some people also add a rotating motor to a dish to that you won\'t have to manually point it or buy multiple dishes or single dishes with multiple LNB

Generally the further away the satelite in orbit the larger the dish has to be. But most of the time, a 18\" dish will do fine. Some of the most popular satellites are positions in various degress from true West like 61.5, 91, 101, 119, and 121. These most satellites either broadcast in C-Band or KU-Band frequencies. FTA recievers also can pick up satellite radio, so you can enjoy hours of high quality music.

As for watching \'pay\' specific satellites, like Bell and Dish Network you have to find the decryption keys and input them into your receiver. Also, once in a while, you\'ll need to flash your reciever box for new firmware upgrades.

oh, did I mention there are so many pron channels.

I was waiting for some one to put this up. Whats the price range? I\'m looking for something like the old direct TV/ Dishnetwork setup. Free ppv and american channels. Basic cable ain\'t cutting it. :sarc
