06 Front and Rear Calipers Diff Colour

Hi,

Firstly, I\'m steaming, so i\'ll try and keep the emotions to a minimum. :sarc

Anyhow, So I just took delivery of my new Mazda 2 1/2 weeks ago. Brand spankin\' new. I took it to a very *reputable* dealer recommended from this board to have some springs installed.

All seems fine, until I got home, and noticed, my two front DISCS, and Calipers are completely different ! They are spray painted gold metallic ! To make this worst, the brake pads are worn out a bit. To make things even more worst, the front discs are rusted in spots.

I thought I was tripping, then when i washed my car, the two front discs started oxidizing immediately while the rears were fine.

Can you believe this ? Did they think i wouldn\'t notice that they would swap out my front discs, calipers, and brake pads ? I called them today, and they denied it. I will be confronting them shortly. Possibly legal action.

If they do not admit to what happened, I will post the name of the company.

This sucks ass ! Even the braking on the highway sucks now.

I hope its not april fools joke!!!! if not ....wow! thats serious if they did swapped them with old ones!! thats just insane and what will they gain from that? doesnt make sense..for few bucks theyre risking so much...anyways keep us posted ...which dealer is it???

skunk.. are you saying all new mazda\'s have gold spray painted calipers on the front ? I distictly remember them being silver up until yesterday, because i just bought alum tremclad and this was going to be the next project. Others can you confirm ?

sorry. i just took a look at the mazda gt around the street... they are all silver dude. my front discs, pads, calipers were swapped.. no doubt about it. maybe your monitor is not showing the gold. besides, the rust, worn out break pad give it away. it\'s a swap. :(

go back to the dealer and discuss this to them....what springs did u had installed, pro-kit??? drop looks good and hids are nice too...

I WAS WRONG !!!
2006 GT\'s do have different calipers, and they are painted gold.

So, I was dead wrong on this. I put the poor guys through all the trouble.

i dont think it\'s paint, it\'s some sort of coating...it will wear off after a while. then it\'s time to paint your calipers with your color of choice =)

rust spots on the rotors is no biggy either , just drive around the block and they should be gone --- as soon as your pads hit the rotors.

if i saw this sooner i would have let ya know!

just paint ur cailpers! and then u won\'t have to think someone swapped em on u again!
