Hi all,
I\'ve been lurking for the past month or so to check out the feedback on the M3, as it\'s on the short list for my next vehicle. I even got to test drive a GS with manual tranny yesterday - very nice.

yeah, I\'d like to see that happen.. :sarc:p

and welcome macquanski.. yes, please let us know your list.. I\'d imagine it\'s almost the same list as everybody elses when they were shopping around for a car.. mine incl the civic, corolla, jetta, and the imprezza (non WRX)..

Yes, it\'s the same old, same old:
Civic
Corolla

and.....wait, I drove past the local Ford dealer and saw a F150 for $16,995. Realisticly, when my 92 Ranger dies, I\'ll need a personal vehicle, that that\'s miserly on gas but fun to drive, not a truck.

Oh to win the lotto!

Welcome macquanski,

Welcome to the TM3 board. How did you like the drive of the 5MT GS? If you are looking for a little more pep, you have to drive the 2.3L. Enjoy your shopping experience and welcome to the board.

welcome.....if you are not too keen with the looks/GT-GFX package, i would say the 2.0L with manual tranny will give you better results in fuel consumption...since some, if not most of the 2.3L engine is having bad mileage reviews.......but overall the 3 is a good choice, no regrets here...just my 2cents

my only thoughts on the corolla are.
If you go for say the sport model. $20,700K it dosen\'t have cruise..or even ABS!!! How can you not have ABS in a car that cost 21K?? And not available on lower models...why?? Because they are not 4-wheel disc!!!
Other than that ok little car. Pricey I think.

Even the Civic Dosen\'t have 4-wheel disc unless you buy the top model... ouch!

I\'m sure if you price out either the 3 will give you more for your money.(like 4-wheel discs)
But yes... the 2.3L, a little hard on gas. Stay with the 2.0L (that is if you pick a mazda)

Thanks all for the warm welcome. As for trying the 2.3 with 5 MT, I don\'t know, it might be addictive.:D

If your looking at a GS sedan - check out Mazda3 touring edition model - copper red exterior looks great with the GS red tails. It\'s a great package of goodies offered for a limited time - now with free satellite promo and low rate terms. If you can wait there\'s always the Mazdaspeed3 coming soon.
Forum members selling this stuff can give you a great deal!:)
