View Full Version : Anyone else clean their car(s) this week-end?

The weather was great for car cleaning, and since the insides of both our 3\'s were pretty nasty from the winter months I decided to give both cars a decent once over. They look so much better when cleaned. The vacuums at the gas station were packed all day long (as was the car wash) so I guess I wasn\'t the only one taking advantage of the weather. Anyone else do some cleaning?

I was meaning to give the car a good cleaning on the inside and if warm enough do the first waxing of the season.... but I never got around to it. I was hoping to do this stuff this upcoming Friday but it \"might\" rain. The weekend is looking ideal though... gotta get rid of the winter mats and clean the nasty salt and what not that might have got on the carpet.

My issue right now is at my new house there is still mud so when i clean my tires/wheels they get dirty instantly :(

Get used to it for the next 1-1 1/2 years. I had a black civic when we first moved. It was black with a sand tint:(. 4 years later there still is dirt in the air.

As for the wash, I did the outside. Inside i will do next week. I also painted my calipers this week end :D

No, but I did replace the thermostat for the Miata. The scraping of the gasket was no fun at all. Then the coolant leaking all over the floor. Then troubleshooting a leak. An hour and a half later --- satisfaction of doing car repairs by yourself!

This project should\'ve been done 4 months ago, but with kids, I seem to be quite behind in projects. Next project on the list is giving the Mazda6 a good wax before the winter. Wait a minute...

Cleaned my car yesterday and clayed bar it and waxed it as well. Took about 3 hours to finish everything up. The wax i used are the meguiars (the one with the black box) and used meguiars clay bar (my frd gave me a piece) and meguiars soap. Now the car is mint.

FYI: Cdn tire have the meguiars big jug car soap on sale for $4.49. This stuff is great and they\'re selling really fast. They are the pink colored soap.

I want to clean the inside but I\'ll probably wait until I visit home again since my bro has a shop vac.. probably another month but I did clean the winter mats.. nasty man.. took a tooth brush to them to clean off all the salt build-up and other residue..

I did do a touch up on my calipers.. some of the paint rubbed off over the winter months.. man, it was so cold saturday morning.. my right leg started shaking after about 30 mins and when I went inside (after about 45 mins) I couldn\'t feel my right hand.. it was so numb!!

No cleaning here. Just two oil changes, 3 and Tribute.
Next is brake job (Pads and Fluid)...if I can find some time.
Then after brakes is clean and re-mount summer wheels...if I can find some time.
Then I\'ll clean the interior...if I can find some time.
Then a good wash and wax...if I can find some time.

Was planning to do the once over yesterday, didn\'t happen. I am planning for wednesday if the weather cooperates..

While I was at Canadian Tire yesterday I saw this car.. I wish I had my normal digi camera with me because the cell camera really doesnt do justice.. AND NO it is not mine.

The passanger side was full of garbage above the window as well... In fact I dont even know how a driver would fit.

Cant begin to imagine what the interior smells like..

Yikes.

Well over the weekend, yes i cleaned my car, but not with the maticulous detail I usually put into it. That was on;y because I focused on getting all the yucky brake dust off of them. The inside of my rims were literally BLACK. It took a lot of work and a durable spoke brush to get it silvery again. I think I used half a bottle of that purple meguires stuff to get all four rims clean enough.

It\'s clean, but not perfectly so. I think I\'ll get the carpet professionally shampooed sometime.

I don\'t think it\'s photoshoped.

I dare say my car is that shiney when cleaned and waxed.

It\'s not that hard really.

A quick hand wash and dry with Mothers car soap, Klasse AIO, then Klasse SG.

Normally I\'d clay it too, but I was lazy this time I just used AIO. It\'s not as effective as the mechanical action of a claybar, but AIO gets rid of surface residue and oxidation pretty well for a chemical cleaner.

Klasse is not widely available in retail stores...in the GTA at least.

I bought mine from www.carcaresmart.com. They ship out of BC.
