Guys aside from the other thread \"Vacation Spots...\" which mostly travelling out of the country....

What places do you recommend to have a nice long drive within ONtario and have a good time...place like Halliburton/Milden, nice small town and real nature tripping....dont bother suggesting wasaga beach, lake simcoe, niagara/marineland, wonderland and other common places....

YOur inputs will be appreaciated...need to go out of TO

Is the purpose of the trip a week-end away with your buddies or a romantic type getaway with the significant other? That info would likely help get some good suggestions.

Ok, this is truly a decently long drive, but the scenery is really nice. Try Bon Echo Provincial Park. That park has a nice lake for canoeing and decent campsites. The scenery is pretty breath-taking. The nature there is fairly undisturbed (in comparison to other provincial parks closer to Toronto), as the closest town is called \"Tweed\", population 50.

It\'s about 3-4 hours north of belleville

I am thinking Manitoulin Island. Awseome mountain biking and great canoeing and kayaking. great scenery as well. I think that is where I will go in the next couple of weekends.

I think the population is higher than 50, I believe it is over 5000, they have a timmies and subway. I know a tim hortons could survive on 50 people but there is no way a subway could.

Watch out for the OPP in this area, I got a speeding ticket just outside of town last summer.
