I recently found out my first gear to 2nd gear is slipping but as soon as i change from 2nd to 3rd it catches the gear right away. Anyone have this problem? Will this be under waranty?
The situation occurs when Iam on first gear and driving with tiptronic and when i change to 2nd at about 3-3500 RPM it takes about a second for it to grab to 2nd gear. But when i change from 2nd to 3rd it grabs right away.
Anyone have any info on this? or any experience on this?
thanks

hmmmmm interesting.
When I drove the demo model I remember telling the salesman that I thought the shift from 1st to 2nd was \"very soft\" using the manual mode. As if it delayed just a second before clicking in. The demo was brand new so I assumed that this was the typical feel for this car. It didn\'t happen in auto mode for me so I didn\'t think of it as slipping.
When I picked up my car from Avante and drove it off the lot I experienced the same \"soft\" gear change from 1st to 2nd so I thought nothing of it. Having suffered slipping of gears on my last car I discounted this because it didn\'t have the same severe feel. Again, this doesn\'t happen to me in Auto mode. I honestly haven’t noticed it progressing or getting any worse when driving in manual mode.
I may have to have M.O.T. have a look at sooner rather than later. Please let me know what they tell you Pearl Hatch

Just met up with Fang and took his car for a spin. Everything feels fine relative to mine. The \"soft\" 1 to 2 shift in manual mode is the same on mine. I have an 2004 since Sept. 04 and I haven\'t had any issues with the tranny at all.
dang...it was weird seeing that 5th gear on the dashboard :)
However, if it is a concern for you guys, I would still get it checked out to make sure.

Kevin please let us know what you find out. After reading your post earlier today I put my 06 in manual and noticed the slight lag from 1st to 2nd... didn\'t think anything of it until you mentioned it.

Hey guys I will be sure to update this thread as soon as i have the time to bring it in. Recently i\'ve been really busy with school and i\'ll have to have my car checked probably or most likely next week or the week after. BUT I will keep this thread updated as soon as my car is in there.

I noticed my fourth gear slipping while I was on my way to work. Mazda of Brampton had to keep my car for a week to fix it.

I have this exact same problem. Even if I take it to 6000rpm I have to shift at 5000 for it to catch by 6000 and and to shift at 3000rpm I need to shift by 2700rpm.

I know what your are talking about legoman , but ive been in Pearly\'s car and i think he has a different problem. There is always a slight delay when switching gears in tiptronic mode, well, i have always experienced a slight delay . With pearly\'s car , the gear is not catching .. and you can feel it .
you car should be fine lego :)
