Can\'t promise anything, but I\'ll try to make it...I just bought a new driver.

Do they use grass or mats at Launch?

I think only mats. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I hate hitting off the mats.

Me too. What makes it worse is that I hit left handed so if I show up I\'ll either have to keep moving the mat around whenever I hit or buy myself my own stall. :(

just mats i believe!
at least the part we go to!
its all good about lefties, we can just put the plug thingy in both holes!

right?

also . . .
there were some lefties b4 no worries!

Just mats, but they\'re left and right handed.

I hate mats too... :( need some grass :D

the mat thing is an issue since its hard on graphite shafted clubs.
the idea is great.
did you guys ever organize a golf outing sometime last year?
i know there are a few courses in the east end where i am that is pretty good price and its a fun afternoon out on the course?

It depends on how this turnout goes, if people are willing to show up then it can be a weekly thing, 3-4 people per stall comes out to roughly $10 per person, damn cheap!!!

I don\'t mind going weekly, the more practice the better.

I\'m thinking 8pm-10pm, its not too early and its not too late seeing that it\'s sunday night, what\'s a good time for everyone who is showing up?

8pm sounds good to me.

on days where i can show 8 is good!
on the days i can, well i work until 1015 so i would miss those!

if u make it weekly it is all good!
if u make it biweekly
could u run in on my day shift weekends?

Am I supposed to bring my whole set or just the driver?

It\'s up to you, I usually bring my whole set so I can practice with all the clubs.

I\'ll be there, but I\'m only going to hang out...

My clubs are in Oakville, and if anyone has seen my trunk recently, you will know why I can\'t fit my clubs in :D

On second though, i\'m going to pass. The drive there is a little far with gas prices like this:

Haha... did you stretch? getting old man...

Was this your first \"golfing\" activity of the year?

LOL. I\'m used to the miscellaneous aches and pains after golfing. I especially feel it in my right knee... too much hip action!

bluntman

Must have been due to the cold and damp conditions. Otherwise, I was completely surprised by the distance I was getting from my new driver.

SIM SIMMA

hehe... if you consider 30 young then sure...

I\'m just asking because I notice more aches and pains after sports now... and to prevent them i just stretch before... it helps.

bluntman... What kind of driver do you have?

I just bought myself a (brand new, but last year\'s model) Cobra SZ 460cc driver from Golf Town. I was looking at getting a Nike SasQuatch or this year\'s Cobra driver, but I saw this one on sale. Since it\'s basically the same model driver that I already have, just with a larger head (previous driver was a 9 degree Cobra SZ 400cc) and with a newer, better shaft (stiff flex Aldila NV vs. stiff flex Aldila HM) I jumped at it...I didn\'t even take it for a swing in their simulator.

Maybe I\'ll trade in my 400cc driver for a hybrid. Hmmm...

Nice club...

I think my mom is looking at the ladies Cobra... she loves using the Cobra drivers...

I am in my second year of using the Taylor Made R7...

Hybrids are good man... i replaced my 3/4 irons with a Nike forged utility iron.. i think if anything... this year i may add a hybrid to the bag.

bluntman
04-24-2006, 02:52 PM
The thing is, I like my long irons. For some reason I don\'t like my woods, esepcially off of the fairway. :( Maybe I\'ll look into getting a \"0\" hybrid.

SIM SIMMA
04-24-2006, 02:55 PM
get a 3 hybrid...

you won\'t go back... trust me.

hit it like you would your long irons... WHAMMO

I only carry my driver... no 3 or 5

bluntman
04-24-2006, 03:18 PM
A 3 hybrid huh? I really like the new Taylormade hybrids with the weights, but they won\'t be available in left handed until the summer. Any suggestions?

SIM SIMMA
04-24-2006, 03:33 PM
I\'ve used the older technology.. this one..

http://www.golftown.com/gtcommerce/stores/1/TaylorMade-Rescue-Mid-Steel-Shaft-P943C22.aspx

But want to try the ones you are talking about...

i have not tried any other hybrids except for Taylor mades... and I swung a Nike one before too... it was ok... they are more affordable.

Go to Golftown and grab a couple brands (limited choices I think due to you being a lefty) and take a few whacks in the simulator...

bluntman

For only $98 the Nike CPR3 looks good.

SIM SIMMA
04-24-2006, 03:41 PM
go test it out... see if you like the feel and the distances you get.

:)

go now! we\'ll have a mini meet at golf town
