So i went to Jake Tech to install my compustar alarm but i noticed that whenever the alarm went off my HIDS would flash (very bad for the HIDS) --- anyone with an alarm and HIDS probably has this problem. Jake Tech rewired my HIDS so that i have Independent fogs and Independent parking lights !!!! Meaning the parking lights can be on without the HIDS, which is perfect for anyone with an alarm system. Only Jake knows how to rewire the system like this, I\'ve called many places and none are able to do this !!!!! Great service, cool people, and great prices --- wicked dog too. Here are the pictures

Thanks for the review Andrew. I was looking for a good and reliable place to take my car for a headlight housing replacement and now I\'ve found one. ;)

Devin\'s kit had no issues with the stock alarm system at least my 06 had no issues.
the independent fog mod xenon has done, he showed me and it seemed easy.
M3F has a how to for independent fogs here:

however, I don\'t have indepent parking lights.
shouldn\'t your car come with an alarm system chinsterr?
edit: but good find, we have more choices for taking our cars for lighting related issues.

hate to steal your thunder but Warren/wtom\'s HIDs can do this as well (since 04). independent fogs, independent parking lights, and HIDs.
although the installer that did his HIDs isn\'t exactly reputable.

I had my HIDS previously installed at lockdown and they DID do independent fogs . HOWEVER, they did not do independent parking lights, which made my HIDS flash whenever the alarm went off.
lol I have been running HIDS for a year too

That\'s strange that so many people were satisfied with Jake. My friend with his Mercedes C320 coupe recently had his HID installed there, and somehow Jake did a terrible job of it? Now I\'m not here to bash Jake, I don\'t know him, nor have I had any work done with him, but he insisted that it was something wrong with my buddy\'s car not accepting the HID\'s properly.
It appeared to me, that Jake was trying to pass off a bad job done over to my friend and have it left at that. Anyway, I suppose he\'s not all that bad since more than 1 person has said something good about him. :)

if the C320 came with halogens stock, then it is a problem with the car and not the install.
the ECU in the C320 has to be changed to accept the running wattage of the HIDS vs. the halogen (35w vs. 55w or whatever the halogens run at)
the only way to make the change is to have access to a Mercedes-Benz scan tool (i.e. dealership).
again, it is not the install, it is the ECU in the C320 that needs to be set to \"xenon=present\". Do a search on the mbworld.org...

Hello Everyone
Our earlier installations (pre September 2005) were configured using the parking lights as the turn on method for the relay used on the H.I.D. power input. Since then we revised our method of wiring to use the headlight switch directly as the source to activate the relay used on the H.I.D. power input. This means no blinking of H.I.D.s when the parking lights are turned on.
This method DOES make the parking lights come on independently of the H.I.D.s as Chinsterr has stated. So in terms of stating Jaketech as the only source for this, that is incorrect and has been what we have been offering since last year.
As an open offer to anyone who had their H.I.D.s installed by us using the parking lights as a source for turn on, please contact us for a FREE re-wire to our new method. To confirm whether your vehicle uses the parking lights as a turn on source do the following:
Turn light switch to first position (parking lights)
If H.I.D.s turn on you have the parking light installation
We know JakeTech, with Jake being a personal friend of mine. I have known Jake for years and he does indeed do good work. I just wanted to clear up any in-correct statements so as to clear the air in terms of the way that we install and wire up the H.I.D. kits that we do.
Regards
Jeff Bates
