TM3 Paintball Battle

As the weather is getting warmer there are so many things to do outdoors.

Just wondering if people would be interested in a paintball day?

We\'d probably need a decent amount of people to avoid playing with the hardcore paintballers who have lasersighted weapons and semi-autos. I\'ve only been paintballing twice, but both times were pretty fun. Outdoors was better than indoors.

Just putting some suggestions out there for things to do as we already have normal meets, bbqs planned, cruises etc.

Hmm... interesting I was going to suggest TM3 vs someone else but didn\'t know who :)

It would be cool though... but I think right now we are seeing what the general interest is.

The advantage to this is that it is already planned :)

I tried organzing one last year but there wasn\'t much interest due to the fact it was in Wasaga and everybody didn\'t want to drive that far due to high gas prices.

I just did a quick google of places in Toronto.

There are tons! So we wouldn\'t have to go out to Wasaga necessarily.

Some hardcore people out there... speedball? xball? wtf?

Sabio... can you give a quick run down on types of games and whatnot?

I\'m assuming people would like to play a more of capture the flag outdoors type deal...

Wasaga seems to have the best fields with different scenarios and whatnot.. pretty cool.

Wasaga is the place to go for outdoor. I haven\'t been to their new feilds. I heard they are good though. Outdoors is kewl...get to play army men .. LOL

Indoor is usually hot and smelly (summer) and dirty. Smaller area to play. But can be fun.

Speedball / Hyperball / X-ball all kind of the same. 2 teams (5-7 players each side), a feild laid out with matching bunkers, flag in the middle. Get the flag and bring it to your opponents start area (opposite side of the feild)
Bunkers can be air filled, big black plastic tubes or even just wood boards.

Well I liked playing outdoors better compared to playing indoors.

I think there is a place out in Stouffville that is outdoor. A whole day scenario for 50 a person or something like that. Includes all you can eat bbq or some deal like that...

Again if this is going to happen we will have to see what the general consensus is.

What would be the price range for a game or a day? I remember few years ago i went to a place called sargent splatters. $25 for the gun and 100 rounds. Any additional 100 rounds are $15 i think.

I\'d be down for this! I\'m still a rook and haven\'t been able to make any of the meets yet, but I\'d definitely be down to supporting the club on this one. Especially against a Honda club! Does damn rice-bombs have been giving me ear aches already and it\'s not even summer yet!

We should stipulate that baseball bats could be used with restrictions. They should be as follows:

1. No following through with the swing.
2. Contact can only be made on parts of the body that are padded. No head shots unless it\'s deemed to be funny.
3. You cannot hit anyone in the knees more than once.
4. No hitting your own teammate unless it\'s Broli then see point #2.
5. No hitting TheBiz simply because your car took too long to arrive from sea. Pick a better reason.
6. No hitting Cardinal Fang because you have something against Catholics.
7. When swinging the bat, if the intended target moves out of the way causing you to miss you will be charged with a strike. Two strikes and you will have to sit out for 15 minutes and think about what you did wrong.
8. No throwing your bat at anyone. Unless it\'s jdanielsg and then refer to point #2.
9. Extra points will be awarded if you successfully manage the “majic maneuver.” This occurs when during your swing you a) make contact with a nOOb and b) you yell something about using the search function while mentioning at least 4 expletives.
10. No shots to the jewels.

Check out pbreview.com, they have plenty of reviews on different outdoor and indoor fields. I went to Action Adventure Games last year, and it was fun. Nice decent outdoor field to play woodsball, they actually have 3 areas setup: one for speedball, one for woodsball and one for ghost town scenario.

There\'s also ultimate paintball field in Milton/Guelph, I hear its not too bad. I\'m going to play a game tomorrow and see what it\'s like. Most of the outdoor fields are far and hard to find, but worth it to play outdoors.

Hopefully someone can set something up.

I\'ve only been to Wasaga and the Toronto Prelude Club went down there with 20 ludes for a cruise with no OPP troubles as long as you stay within the group 115-120/kph range...it was a fun day. Amazing courses and town settings, and great fun when you go through the woods...

Was at Ultimate Paintball field today, and my impression after only playing a few of their field is that it\'s a big and very busy place but not all that great. The field is quite run down with alot of the structures in poor condition. They\'re really, really busy on the weekend, there were atleast 4 to 5 groups with up to 30 people playing at the same time on different part of the property. Refills of CO2 and air was fast, registration was also fast. This field can handle large group.

Seriously, anyone who goes paintballing should get their OWN mask. Don\'t even use rentals unless you know they\'re brand new, we had a couple of guys complain about fogging. A cheap thermal lens mask is ~$35.

If the club is going to setup something in June, I\'ll ask these same people to come. Large group battle royale are awesome.

Good suggestion on splitting the paintballs.

The $20 is if we have 20 or more people. Includes admission to all the fields, rental of equipment (mask, gun and camo top), unlimited air and 50 paintballs.

It\'s even cheaper if you have your own gun. $10 bucks for admission but you\'d still have to buy paint... so splitting with people would be ideal to keep costs down

1: Nobody uses Laser sights...useless
2: Some Paintball markers do have a full auto mode...But you are Not allowed to use it!
3: There is no better feeling than taking out a guy with a $2000 marker with one shot from your $150 rental gun :hoho

Wasaga has been suggested by more than one member who has played often. If you can suggest an alternative that is decent then it may be considered, but right now the location is Wasaga cause we shouldn\'t keep changing the details BUT if making the field closer prompts better turnout we might have to consider it.

Maybe but I think a lot of people wanted to play just with people we knew.

Like I said.. we\'ll see what the response is like by Weds the 24th. I think we need to book or reserve sooner than later. If it is a bust perhaps we\'ll put it aside for a bit and \"try\" again for later in the summer.

I think people are loathed to go, since Wasaga is pretty darn far. I recommend these 2 fields:

There\'s Action Adventure Games in Ajax/Whitby area, its a decent field. Last time I was there they were using new Custom98 as rental! There was a HOT MILF there as well cooking food for us.

Otherwise Ultimate Paintball in Milton is the way to go. Crappy field and useable rentals, but they can handle large groups. When I was there at the beginning of May there were atleast 3 groups with 20+ people playing at the same time.

Just looked at both suggestions on pbreview and they both seem okay from the reviews. Action Adventure Games is an all day thing so I don\'t know if that will work. Ultimate has half day packages which would work out for most people with the 12-4pm game. The prices are not bad either I guess. $25 gets you: 4 hours play, rental equipment (gun, 100 paintballs, mask, unlimited CO2)

Ultimate is in Milton... so not too far at all.

This could be a good alternative location? Any other opinions? Will more people be willing to come?

20 people is the number needed to close it off to walk-on players.

A suggestion: For those of you who are worried about it hurting, come and watch, it isnt as intense as people think, yes everyone has a story and \'bruises\' but really most real accidents happen at home... why would you want to stay there?

Guys, I\'ve been paintballing before. It is really fun! I\'ve gotten hit many times, just got a little welt, it went away. However! this goes to the guys, highly recommended to where protection down under if you plan on having kids.LOL! The chances of getting nailed there slim, but all it takes is one ball! Crappy Tire sells protective cups for cheap.

Ok, another suggestion for a field. I went to this field 2 years ago and had a BLAST, easily my favorite field. Check them out http://www.geocities.com/combat_zone_paintball/

The field is massive, but lots of fun. Lots of hills and large fields to get lost in. Only problem is the guy is busy like hell. This field was hard to find, and they have crappy rentals. So bring your equipment and at minimum your own mask! Here\'s more of the details:

$49.00 per player (no discount for gun owners as we have to chrono their
guns in the morning and that takes time and paint) and you get 100
paintballs each with free air fills as needed and all-u-can-eat BBQ with
coffee and donuts in the morning; paid up insurance premium is also included

as is use of mask, goggle and marker. I can always work deals in November,
early April or during the week (Mon to Fri) or sometimes during July and
August depending on bookings but late April to mid June is our busiest time
of year (along with Sept and Oct.), especially this year as our closest
competition folded and we are getting much of his leftovers. The organizer
will get a free game of course (I take it that\'s you) and I\'ll make sure you

get the best gun with some extra paint and remind me to take some group
photos as I always have my digital there. Extra paint is $10.00/100 (the
average player goes through 300 in a full day; paintballs that is, not
dollars) and camoflage suits are $8.00 each to rent.

Took a look at the site. Although a whole day scenario would be fun I think most people were interested in half a day of paintballing which this place offers... a 3 hour game for $29.

Even with all these other choices not many more people are confirming.

What do you guys think? Try organizing later on in the summer? I would think we would have to book something... and most places require a deposit too... not sure if I would want to put the deposit down for 20 people and have no one show...
