Just wanted to see how many members here went the lease route vs. the purchase route. Mods, if this type of poll has been done (I couldn\'t find anything) feel free to lock/delete.

I don\'t think this has been done, but I have moved it to the correct section.

I searched for \"finance\" and didn\'t come up with anything similar.

this one is leased!
with the intention to buy!
the one i had b4 was purchased,
when it had problems i wanted to lease this one
so i could give it back if there were issues!

but now i am confident with the 3 again, so . . .
i would buy now!
but . . my next car will something different . ..

I wanted to finance the car before I signed anything, but then I wasn\'t sure would I keep the car for a long time, so I backed to lease.

yes, not long ago I wanted to switch back to finance, but the rate was no good, and now I consider have another car probably next yr:p

Paid cash. The interest rate was too high at the time I bought.

I\'m a little shocked at the results so far.....I would\'ve thought way more people were leasing.

I\'m leasing right now but I\'m gonna buy it out after the term.

Just because it seems like a lot of people on this board have \'professed\' to leasing their 3\'s. Anyone have any idea what % of cars in Canada are leased vs. purchased?

I started out leasing my 1997 RAV4, simply because, I couldn\'t afford it at the trim level I wanted. Once the lease was over, I bought it out and then sold it about 3 years later. I would never do that again, I should have returned it once the lease was finished. With the buy back amount and the monthly lease payments and the initial down payment, I paid several thousand more than had I financed it in the beginning.

I financed because I didn\'t want to have to worry about the limits of the lease.

Just figured it was worth the freedom of financing the car.

On the 3 it is about a three way split.

33% - Cash
33% - Lease
33% - Finance
1% - Broli stole it

I think this is due to the incentive programs. More people finance when it is 0% or 1.9% etc.

lol

leased. good because i dont want this car after 3 years (i like change). bad because im well over the recommended km lol. im \"running this car into the ground\" as they say. however, over the past 2 years and 2 months, ive grown to be attached to this car. its brought me many good memories. its going to be hard and sad to see it go.

60k 3yr lease/75k 10 months remaining.

I wonder whose lease is up first here on the board and what their intentions are? While I love the 3 I likely won\'t have it for more then 2-3 years as I like to change cars as well.
