Pretty sure it\'s the resonator but this exhaust system isn\'t even two yrs old on my car, slightly over 30,000 kilometres (over 18,640 miles). That clicking noise appears to be coming from the resonator. I\'ve checked all bolts, clamps, arms, heatshield, but nothing appears to make the clicking cease. A shop plus a fellow Draxas owner stated it\'s the resonator.

Yeah really nasty. Nikolas replied in the Other forum (http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=48175.0) and confirmed it is lifetime warranty. Must be the cheap made in Taiwan resonator.

Fixed (temporarily?)

Found a shop (CarMax Automotive (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=5710#92254)) that was willing to hoist the car up and had a stethoscope-like listening device to prod around the exhaust pipes to determine where the jingling was originating. Turns out it\'s right after the exhaust cat, before the resonator. The two guys concluded it was the stopper in the O2 sensor plug on the cat which became loose over time. They just tightened it for now but if and when it comes loose again, they\'ll put some special cement in place to keep it locked forever.

I didn\'t even think about that. I\'ll bring some with me if I have to go back for the same issue. Thanks bluntman!

I think you\'ll need the red one, I believe that\'s the one for higher temperatures.

Seems to be quite a common dilemma in the Draxas system\'s cat (http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=48175).
