Hi Everyone,

Not sure if it\'s just me or someone else has experienced similar problems ...

Sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, there\'s a stiff and not-so-smooth kinda of feel... normally one would be able to shift into the 2nd gear (or any gear for that matter) without any friction or resistence... right?

I also noticed that this friction and stiff feel typically happens when the car was first started (like in the first 10 mins drive)... after a while the shifting becomes smooth and normal again...

Have anyone besides me experienced this or have any idea?

There are many other threads on this. The most common response is to let out the clutch a little slower than the higher gears when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I do this now and it smooths it out nicely. I\'m not so sure that I\'m not burning the clutch more though.

BTW, this should probably be in the Engine/Drivetrain forum.... ;)
