Switching from CAI to SRI

im thinking of switching my CAI for a SRI...only problem is i dont know where to purchase one. If anyone would like to trade a SRI for a CAI (AEM). I would consider it also..But my question is where can i buy a SRI.

Why do you want to get rid of your CAI?

Umm...just want to try somthing different. the power gains from the CAI are OK, but their not much better then that of the SRI. In a way its also the safer route to go although after 2 and a half years with the CAI i know it takes a lot of water to hydrolock and unless you run into a river, its not gonna happen. anyone know of where i could purchase one?

I\'m coming to notice that people are getting the CAI wet very easily. Unfortunatly I don\'t have the option to be extra delicate with the car since I live in the country where dust and water like to settle and cause decent problems. I\'ve decided that I\'ll eventually get a SRI instead.

What brands are out there for the 2.3l? Do any come with a heat shield? Any recommendations or tips dealing with a SRI?

Mathius is selling his K&N Typhoon Intake, it can convert from an SRI to CAI and back.

The only SRI that I know of that comes with a heat shield, a carbon fiber on at that, is the Simota SRI.

if you can\'t get it for less than $200USD (preferrably close to $150ish) then go for it, oitherwise you can get a CAI for ~$200 and the prices i\'ve seen for the simota $250-300USD are PURE RIPOFFS!!!

yes.. there were v1/v2 issues but they have been resolved AFAIK.. it\'s nice b/c it\'s stealthy and it\'s nice b/c it growls :) placebo gains.. maybe..

the umnitza intake seems pretty cool...anyone know if there are any issues with it..are there any members on here that carry this on their car..dont flame cause im too lazy to search..

AFAIK? Whats that? So I\'m guessing there is a v3? So if I buy a new one what serial or series should I look for? I found the price from um nitza and its 200$, it was reduced.
