Xe,

this is not a trust thing
i will be donating!

but, i would like to know,
how the money will be used,
i.e.

when the fund is actually there (i.e it has a reasonable some of money in it)
will it go to subsidize TM3 merchandice in the future?
will it go to help pay for TM3 events that we may want to hold? (ex, lets say we want to have a bbq, would we use the fund to purchase the foods and stuff, could be a good idea, as we could then charge for the bbq and recoup the losses and even make a gain)
who will have access?

u know, those kind of questions!

Xenon\'s at work right now, so I will attempt to answer some of your questions.

The Members Fund will be a slush fund set aside for use in subsidizing costs. For example, Assume the car club wants to attend an event like DarKnights, which requires a registration fee of $15. The Members Fund (provided there is a sufficient amount) would cover $5 of the $15, so that members only have to pay $10 out of their own pockets.

The Members Fund will also be used to subsidize the cost of TM3 Merchandise. Instead of having a high retail value of our merchandise, funds from the Members Fund can be used to lower the cost of merchandise to the members.

Any donation amount to this fund would be most appreciated. The money collected in this account will go straight into the club.

That was quoted from http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=6769

i guess i am realy more curious about access,
who has it, and how does it get to the members

i suspect that funding would only be available for official events!
and that makes sense

but who makes events offical?

cause meth does the main meets, i tried for bbq a few times, combined meets (like ottawa, need funding for prizes and such, we are exploring other options for that, but that is an example of smtg that could come up in the future)

know what i am sayin?

The PayPal account is under the Toronto Mazda3 Car Club, but under my name for a contact.

Funding will be mostly for official events. Car Club participation to DarKnights (if we go as a club), it can pay for our charcoal at MOM for example.

If course we can always use it for non-official events, as long as the majority of members (determined via a poll) agrees that it should be used for this purpose.

As for subsidizing cost of merchandise, every time a subsidation is needed (usually when the cash box is empty or has insufficient funds) a poll will be setup to vote on how much of the members fund we should use to subsidize cost.

As of right now, the only form of a \"slush fund\" we have is the cash box. But due to the nature of the cash box, no one can just easily donate to the club.

As I said, the Members fund is for the members. How the funds are used will be determined by the members. No one person has a say of how the fund will be used. And of course, at any time, any member can request the balance of the fund.

Well i think members of TM3 should understand that it cost someone out of their pockets to create promo T\'s, stickers and other such merchandise. So now if we have this so called \"slush fund\", at least for what stock of merchandise we have is not out of someones pocket waiting to get returned.

Broli, regardless of whether it gets back to members is not the point, it\'s more how it furthers the club, maintanence or expansion. I know what money we have is dear to us, but from what we save(ed) from being a member should be justification enough to take a little from our pocket to support our club.

Kenny Y

u know i am in favour of supporting the club,
i wanted to know how it was gonna work specifically,
I think that is reasonable, and good for the club in general
the things i asked about, were things that better the club,
events and merchandise are both ways the club can improve, and are both
ways that the club can become financially self-sustainable!
