EDIT: I PICKED THE WRONG FORUM, SORRY ADMINS!!!!!!

Hey folks. I just picked up this CAP at East Hamilton Radio. It was $149.

I\'ve never used a cap before and i\'m not expecting a huge difference, but has anyone used this particular name brand before? All the review sites i find arn\'t in english and the translation is pretty poor.

Sorry the pic is blurry, its just too damn shiney to use the flash.

As far as brands go Audison is a fairly reputable brand with focus on SQ. To be honest though I didn\'t even know they made caps, I\'ve only ever read positive reviews of their amplifiers.

TADA! here is the end result.

Yes, I know its very messy, and I\'m in a good spot with that :D The sound is crisper and cleaner to me, and I can turn it up much more with less distortion and no dimming lights! hoorah!

Your lights were dimming before? I haven\'t seen the lights dim in my MZ3 once and I\'m running similar if not more power!

i am pushing 1200watt rms on 2 amps, with dvd dash w/ navi , hids and fog at night, NO CAP, and i can go up to the max volume my ears can handle and there will never be a sign of dimming. i think u should check on ur power cable and grounding.. sand off the area u put ur ground on. Thats very abnormal for the equipment u are using.

We\'ll its entirely possible that I don\'t have the best ground. I\'m grounded to the bolt behind the passenger rear, big black bolt i think. i sanded around it, made sure there was good contact and all that. I\'m used a 4g from a stinger kit, fused at the battery at 50A, to a distribution block in the back, from there an 8g to the amp fused at 30A and an 8g to the ground....well now i have the cap in there too, but also 8g.

Is there a good common place to ground at? I can\'t see mine being THAT bad, but mabe there\'s a better spot.

edit: did you run seperate power for the HU? I\'m currently just plugged into the existing harness for power.

update:

I replaced the ground just in case. I drilled my own hole and made a nicer connection. Seems good. I\'m still getting distortion in the high end but thats just the limitation of my crap sub + speakers.
I hope to put the door speakers on an external amp sometime, but before I do that I want new speakers + sub :(
