does anybody know of a good software (free or not) that can create nice slideshows?? I want to take some of my pictures and create an image slideshow on a DVD..

here\'s a small list of features that I\'d like to have:
- a few choices to wipe the current picture (remember how homer was making dating video for ned?? he used a star wipe to switch to another scene on his video.. something like that..)
- want to be able to add music
- not sure if this option exists but would like to be able to create a few different slideshows on the same disc and be able to playback all at once (ex, song 1 will playback while viewing set of mages 1 and song 2 will playback while viewing set of images 2; thus, this option will playback set of iamges 1 with song 1 and then once done will automatically playback set of images 2 with song 2)

not sure what else I want since I\'m still new to creating slideshows.. thanks for any suggestions you guys/girls have..

oh, and I did try to use Easy CD Creator to create a slideshow.. doesn\'t seem that good of a software to use for this sort of thing..

thanks, but not those kind of slideshows.. I\'ll edit my first post to reflect this but I actually meant slideshows for a bunch of images.. not a professional presentation type of slideshow..

I found that 7.5 had troubles writing a DVD - it couldn\'t recognize my external DVD writer - would get an error message all the time. Apparently, this was a very common issue with it (so I read).

EMC 8 is almost a whole new suite - with it you can also make Music DVD\'s, etc. You can also make your own DVD\'s using MPEG, DIV-X, etc. It\'s not that bad (one thing, I\'m used to Roxio, so Nero may have more benefits/ease of use - not sure can\'t comment). I think you can get it at Future Shop/Best Buy/Staples for around $75.00. It also has backing up software, sound editor, movie editor - transitions and such.

EMC 7.0 and 7.5 are almost identical. Some of the Sonic Features (Such as an easy to make slideshow) were intergrated in EMC7.5. It was mostly a marketing release so that people started to know about the Sonic name. Sonic is an OEM Product.... or was mostly until it purchased Roxio.

They make MyDVD and DVDit. DVDit is much much better than any Nero entry I have seen. However, it comes at a cost. It used to be to the tune of a couple hundred. It is really good software, and I should reinstall it.

MyDVD, Roxio VideoWave, and Nero are all similar. Just something to think about Dave...
