Rating out of 5: 4.5/5 (so far)
Pros:
- Ability to effectively consolidate all of my remotes
- Large, easy to read LCD
- Ability to modify button positioning (LCD)
- Comes with Lithium Ion battery and charging station
- Wife-approved!

Cons:
- Quite cumbersome to set-up
- Not yet able to control iPod (might just be me though)
- Have to learn to use yet another remote
- Typically the price is a little rough at $299
- Only uses IR, there is a Harmony 890 that does both IR and RF, but at $500....no way

So far the remote is quite impressive. I can press one button and it will turn on the TV, switch it to the correct input, turn on my receiver, switch it to the right input, and turn on and play my DVD player! It\'ll even light up automatically when you pick it up. God I love gadgets :D

I think my wife is more excited about it then I am since she can now use all of the components in our system with the touch of a button!

GF has had the remote since December.... its ok. I think its overpriced (at $300... $130 is a steal). The battery stopped holding a charge, and when Logitech was called, they admitted a defect on a large number of these. Turns out the battery doesnt quite fit. They sent a spacer, and all is well :)

Just a heads up, incase anyone else has the issue.

Yeah, I read about that battery problem earlier on this year, but all has been fixed and the ones on the shelf now, like the one I got, is a slightly new design.

Thanks for the review Prof. I\'ve been looking at this thing for a bit but I think the price has steered me away.

Maybe if I see it for 129 I\'ll buy it :p

For now.. I will have 3 controls!

I\'ve got a Harmony Remote also. It\'s a lower model - 5xx. I got it price-matched at Future Shop as well for like $50 - a steal since it costs $199 normally. I have to say its the best part of my home entertainment system. Everyone should have one.

Update:

So now that I\'ve had a few weeks to mess around with the remote I can say that it was well worth the price. I have actually been able to put away all of my other remotes, including the one for my iPod Nano!

The set-up is admittedly a bit time consuming but once you\'re done, the thing is a breeze to use.

The battery has also been really good. I have only had to charge the remote twice since we bought it.....once right out of the box and once a week later.

I definately recommend this remote to anyone looking to buy a universal.

My friend at work also raves about this thing.

He was showing me the setup he has for the control online.

He has it all nicely set up for his wife to use.

I\'m very close to buying this thing.. it\'s the price tag that is holding me back.

For anyone who might be interested I just learned that Dell.ca has the remote on sale for $159.00 and you could easily have FS or BB price match and possibly beat the price.

I have had my 550 for just under a year now and it works great! I preffered this version because of the sleekness etc. all the capabilities are there. I\'ve even got it controlling my xbox, which the xbox had a power on feature though...

No other universal remote has ever been as easy to setup and use as this!

Still on sale as of today along with a bunch of other remotes, you might want to try your luck at FS or BB for a price match!

Um, wow.....any idea on pricing? The one model above mine (the 890) lists for $500, so this one must be at least $700 and likely more!

Nice, I may look into that to replace my ancient Philips Pronto.
