flashing the bios of any hardware is always a risk but it wouldn\'t solve your gaming problems.. I\'m assuming it went all the way through 100% without any type of failure.. the new version of the bios may have bugs or something.. did you get it straight from MSI?? if so, then I would contact them to see if they can do anything to help you.. they may have seen this problem before..

also, you may want to check your settings in the bios to make sure everything looks to be ok.. I don\'t know if you can turn off the primary or slave connections at all but it\'s worth a look around just to be absolutely sure..

also, what exactly is the error message you were getting from the game?? all you said is that it wouldn\'t work.

below are the specs needed to play according to www.futureshop.ca so you should be ok..
* CD-ROM: 8X
* CPU Speed: 1.7GHz
* CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 / Athlon XP
* Disk Space: 2.3GB
* Graphics: Video Card With 128MB Or More Memory, And Either NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 Or Greater or ATI Radeon 8500 Or Greater Cards
* Memory (RAM): 512MB
* Operating System Compatibility: XP, Not Mac Compatible

Sorry,
I didn\'t see your post earlier. You might want to check these forums (very helpful info!):

IMHO,
judging by the system specs you gave us BF2 would be slow (read:crappy) on your box.
Hell, that game just barely runs on mine :D
